This is going to be Platinum's swan song isn't it?
This is going to be Platinum's swan song isn't it?
What do you mean?
That was Nier Automata
it was always there swan song. There other games are trash.
other than 2B's ass, its a joke.
>le epic kaiju fight
>umbran climax 2.0
Already ruined
>games keep flopping horribly
>new CEO wants to focus on live service games
>begging for a publisher to buy them
>only two publishers that still want to work with them are Nintendo and Tencent(say goodbye to Square after Babylon's Fall)
I really don't see how they can recover from this Kamiya is probably going to retire soon too
no oka but what is a swan song?
I never even heard of Babylon's Fall before that other thread that just got deleted. I thought Platinum's latest failure was Sol Cresta, with decent gameplay but beyond dogshit graphics, input delay and bugs on top of being overpriced. Wild that there is another failure I haven't heard about.
>Kamiya not directing
Nah. It's gonna be Project GG instead
The last piece of music that plays in a ballet, usually supposed to be sad and bittersweet because it signals the show is over
But at least it means it's a masterpiece right?
Vaporware and it will be lucky to sell more than W101
Maybe, but it will be the last one they'll ever make before dying or turning into a soulless husk
>Open new studio
>Create in-house game engine
>Finally going to produce their first ever game and fully own the IP rights to it
>New CEO is co-founder who has long been producing games before platinum, with a long history with Kamiya, who wants the company to venture out into more than just action games and potentially games with a longer lasting revenue
Now tell me, how does this sound like a failing company? Only on Any Forums where you will hear people claim that platinum is failing and on the brink of bankruptcy.
If the OG voice isn't back than ye cause I wont buy it no matter how good it is
bayonetta in the trailer was cereza
I don't think chasing after the live service meme is a good idea user, and if their independent games do as well as W101 and Sol Cresta then say goodbye to profits
>other than 2B's ass, its a joke.
far better than replicant
Refers to an ancient Greek belief that a swan sings a very beautiful song right before they die. Used now as a phrase to day a thing that happens before a particular entity or group ceases to be. Doesn't necessarily have to be a good thing anymore.
>Now tell me, how does this sound like a failing company? Only on Any Forums where you will hear people claim that platinum is failing and on the brink of bankruptcy.
dunno, the masses didn't catch up on it yet, but their output has been godawful for two gens now, or at least not even comparable to what their name meant until 10 years ago
It better be
Babylon's Fall is clearly a C team job. I'm not gonna defend it or the live service stuff but showing a game that has had barely any advertisement at all as an example of platinum under the brink doesn't really say much.
Swans don't sing I think but that's cool and interesting actually.
>Doesn't necessarily have to be a good thing anymore
That sucks.
I hope it's good.
>waste of money
>waste of money
>going to make a flop that they fully own the rights to good for them
>"We want to milk consumers for more money because that's popular right now"
This is cope the director was one of the best in the company before and it clearly had some budget
It failing so terribly will mean Square will drop Platinum too so now they need to rely on Tencent to fund their next 'experimental' bomb
oh I didn't know you worked at platinum and know exactly what's going on to make those things a waste of money and a flop.
>clearly had some budget
How? You see so many people going "huh? this is the first time i've heard of babylon's fall" because the game had nearly 0 advertisement and square is the producer so they're the ones who are meant to handle that stuff. I'm not saying the game would be saved if it had advertisement, from what i've seen it really doesn't seem to be anything special, but my point is that having no advertisement pretty much sets the entire thing up to be a guaranteed failure
Previous VA is under contractual obligations to not say much about Bayo 3 even though she is supposedly out and not part of it. Hayter was shitcanned from MGS but was under no such contract. Could be she was a part of it but then canned so had to remain under contract in regards to spilling the beans.
You don't need a crystal ball to tell that making big risky investments and putting all their hopes in another niche Kamiya game won't end well for them
The game itself had budget but I think Square realized what a piece of shit it was and cut their losses early with the advertising
honestly who cares if Hellena isn't back as Bayonetta? Did you hear her in Smash? She can't do the voice convincingly anymore.
>B-b-b-but it's CEREZA not BAYONETTA
She is Cereza you nitwit.
She's also older than Bayonetta if she didn't get sealed away, so 'her voice is different because she's younger' doesn't fly.
You shouldn't care about Hellena anyway since she thinks buying the game is a waste of time as she said to one superfan on twitter
