The ring is completely useless in ER because the difference between a fall that does does 0 damage, 50% damage or is an insta kill is like 1 meter.

more like
-fall 20 meters > nothing happens
-fall 21 meters > take like 20% fall damage
-fall 21 meters and 1 nanometer > instadeath

There is no fall damage in Elden Ring. There's "fall no damage" and "fall die"

Throw a rainbow stone if you're unsure before a jump.
If it shatters, you'll die. If it doesn't you'll survive the jump.

I honestly can't work it out. There have been times when I fell a mile and cursed myself for dying stupidly, only for my character to land and keep going without a problem.

And other times I've shocked at myself just fucking dying from a a seemingly harmless jump.

Except that's bullshit. Rainbow stones don't break from killplanes and a lot of the time short falls are fatal because of random ass kill planes

Games with jumping are pure cringe and I refuse to play them. If you can't design your world sensibly and realistically I want no part in it.

The description tells you it doesn't stop death from falling. Made me wonder what the fucking point is.
