Well, that happened

Nick Brawl is probably one of the most frustrating games in existence. I went overboard to a guy's house once and beat him in Ghost Zone, he got so upset he slammed the table and my fight or flight kicked in so I beat the shit out of him before he could get the chance to rape or grope me. Turns out he never intended to sexually abuse me so I just did that for no reason. It was awkward seeing him at school the next day so I actually switched schools just so I wouldn't see him, also i think he had a crush on me.

Why didn't they just wait a year to release it fully developed?

Update when.

How many players does it have now? I'm scared to look

Thaddeus Crews did an update on the Discord.

The next update is "almost locked in", but contains only netcode improvements. He also said no devs are dedicated to working on NASB exclusively full time, but that the game is still alive.

I get the feeling we're gonna see crossplay, items, and one or two characters before the game folds in the face of Multiversus.

No voiced characters
No Jimmy neutron
No dib (lol JK)

You wouldn't...would you?

that is probably the saddest news for this game
consistent updates and dedicated devs were the only thing holding this up and now that thats gone and the future only holds paid for content I can't see it climbing from the depths
I wouldnt even recomend this on a discount at this point let alone full price

That's a funny way of spelling 'rape correction'

Neat. Thank you for sharing, user. Think after Shredder, characters were to begin being sold as paid downloadable content. Items were improved two patches ago. After everything you said, I suppose crossplay and items should come in "relatively" soon. Still, that was some rather disheartening news to hear, I must admit.

it's actually doing better than expected, they are close to triple digits but yeah that -90% still hits hard.

Oh yeah, I also assume we'll get the teased voice acting, but it'll be too little too late

Didn't have the force behind it to remain so relevant as Smash. Maybe if it was released back when these characters were still popular, things might be different. With the way things happened, its just a half baked copy of the original thing, with slightly different charcters. Probably can still be fun, but same as PS allstars it will be forgotten.

It's a fairly fun game, but being digital really limits it to a novelty to play with a bud once in a while.

You will never be a good Smash Clone. You have no side specials, you have no Ftilts, you have no ledge grabs, you don't even have walking. You are a $50 reskinned build of a Slap City Sequel twisted by cartoon licenses and memes, turning it into a crude mockery of fighting games.

All the “validation” you get is two-faced and half-hearted. Behind your back the FGC mocks you. Nick fans are disgusted and ashamed of the lack of voice acting and music from the shows, your “playerbase” only cares about if their childhood hero gets in.

The FGC is utterly repulsed by you. Dozens of years of fighting games have allowed players to sniff out shit games, and instantly head back to Guilty Gear or Tekken. Even Smash Clones that are “good” have little to no community outside of Rivals of Aether's mod scene. Your gameplay is a dead giveaway, and even if you manage to get a drunk Melee / Ultimate player to buy the game, he’ll uninstall the second he gets a whiff of your diseased, infected community of autistic rosterfags and children that don't actually play the game.

You'll never be happy. You wrench out shill threads every single morning and tell yourself the game will be good, but deep inside you feel the overestimated hype creeping up like a weed, ready to crush you under the unbearable weight.

Eventually it’ll be too much to bear - the reviews will come in, all saying below average, Ludosity will stop updating the game and say DLC plans are cancelled. Nick will pretend the game never existed, and will continue to milk Spongebob's corpse. Your playerbase will find you, heartbroken but relieved that they no longer have to live with the unbearable shame and disappointment. They’ll stop playing the game and head back to Melee, Ultimate, or the fighting game they were playing before, and every casual gamer will know the game as a failed attempt to capitalize on Smash.

This is your fate. This is what you chose. There is no turning back.
