I like that the Crystal Tower is there cause even though it's from FFIII, everyone's going to play it and pop off "holy shit it's the place from FFXIV"

Fuck FF14 trannies. They don't respect Jack's strength.

Also FF1 modded package update, literally almost done, just need to split the sprite selection into folders and fix one battle background and it's done.

GUYS MOBIUS IS FUCKING CANON TO FF1 NOW
THIS IS FROM THE OFFICIAL SOP TWITTER
ARTWORK FOR "THE COLONY"

Attached: FM5PuIyaUAInH8-.jpg (800x418, 128.31K)

I've seen some fag sperg out that they're disrespecting XIV because they chose a 'noob cave' to represent it.

Context for those that don't know.
Mobius is an eerily FF1-like world that's also stuck in a loop of sorts, though it's not a time loop per se but rather key figures having their memories wiped at the end of each cycle and being immortal.
At the end, Four Warriors of Light which are Wol, Garland, Princess Sarah and Meia (new character) defeat Chaos but it's revealed this is all part of greater plan of a god-like entity called Vox who uses the cycle to literally farm Power of Hope and send it to another world at the completion of each cycle (Chaos being defeated), along with kicking out the Warriors of Light into said world except for Sarah (who has her memories wiped instead) in each cycle. This is to ensure nobody can break the cycle and Vox's farm of Power of Hope.
That other "world" looks exactly like "The Colony" depicted in that SoP artwork.
See for yourselves:

Well, I imagine they at least took inspiration from that.

What will they do for the XV reference?
I would have liked an ardyn imitator class (probably not going to happen) and no level reference because although the world was cool the magic sword things were cooler.

They did Insomnia Citadel for FF15 reference, you missed the stream. They even did the gardens area of the citadel from the FF15 Brotherhood OVA from that scene with Iris.

Eh, outside of Void Knight there haven't any classes based on other villains (bar perhaps Cyclic Warrior),

Massive missed opportunity to give all advanced classes references to other villains.
That way the game would be more of a celebration of FF villains.

Dungeon designs are the only references that other FFs are getting, and only the main numbered titles.
Out of other confirmed ones so far we know that:
Western Keep (Astos' castle) is modelled after Castle Palamecia from FF2
Mirage Tower is modelled after Crystal Tower from FF3
Flying Fortress (where you fight Tiamat in FF1) is modelled after Tower of Babil from FF4
Sunken Shrine (where you fight Kraken in FF1) is modelled after Junon Underwater Mako Reactor from FF7
Cavern of Earth (where you fight Lich in FF1) is modelled after Tomb of Raithwall from FF12
Then there's "Refrin Wetlands" area from 2nd SoP demo which is modelled after Sunleth Waterscape from FF13
There's another area I don't know the name of since I don't speak Japanese, it's showcased here that's modelled after Insomnia Citadel from FF15
We saw in trailers that there's an area based on FF11 (don't know the name, never played the MMOs)
And then there's Bikke's Hideout which is modelled either after the Pirate Cave from FF5 or some area from FF14, people still can't agree which one it's based on and we don't have official confirmation for now.

We also know that every main numbered FF game from 2 to 15 will be represented by a dungeon being modelled after it.
We've yet to see the ones modelled after:
FF5/14 (again, since there's no confirmation for the one we know being from 5 or 14)
FF6
FF8
FF9
FF10

Void Knight is not based on Exdeath, that's just Any Forums misinfo based on the older leaked page data, we know from officially confirmed info that it's just Runic Knight in terms of mechanic, as in works like Celes in FF6 where it can absorb magic.
None of the classes are based on any villains or specific characters, they're just based on various FF Jobs.

The coolest shit about this dungeon is that the boss of the dungeon is a Behemoth but with wings.
Behemoths weren't introduced in Final Fantasy until FF2, but Amano actually designed Behemoth originally in an artwork for FF1.
Said artwork for FF1 is the only instance of a Behemoth with wings and it seems the dev team used it to design the Behemoth boss for this dungeon, fucking cool shit.

in the stream it says that the dungeon modelled after Insomnia is called 廻る者たちの故郷
Any weebs that can translate?

Hometown of the Wanderers, whatever that means, can't think of any FF1 location with that name, so probably a new original one like the FF13-based forest.

FFIII is based

I know it's not directly based on Exdeath, but the animation for Runic might have been inspired by the barrier animations in Dissidia.
Also, Wicked Arbor could be Evil Forest.
And I'm still sticking to the unnamed snowy area with the dragon being Narshe.

>Also, Wicked Arbor could be Evil Forest.
Please elaborate, I guess I missed it
>And I'm still sticking to the unnamed snowy area with the dragon being Narshe.
Doesn't look like it, if anything I think the FF6 area will be based on Floating Continent because the achievement icon for beating it has Warring Triad in it.

That really is cool.
I feel like the best parts of this game are the parts that fully embrace and celebrate final fantasy.

This is their 30th anniversary game.
For the 20th anniversary we got the PSP remakes of FF1 and FF2.

Here's thee bit where they talk about it.
>achievement icon
I wouldn't put too much into referencing it. Plus, from the very brief moment it was in the trailer it looked to fit.

Oh yeah, that Wicked Arbor is definitely 100% Evil Forest from FF9, even the description matches.
So that's FF9 reference location covered.
That leaves 6/8/10 and 5/14.
While we're at it, what's the FF11 equivalent of that FF11-inspired area called?

>Okay, let’s talk story. With Frank Sinatra's My Way and the intense song that Jack listens to after beating Chaos, it seems like he has an eclectic taste in music… but it also seems to come from our world. How is that possible?

>Fujiwara-san: Jack’s line in the trailer, “Where do I come from?!”, shows that he is a ‘stranger’. He isn’t from Cornelia.
>Perhaps the place that he and the others originally came from incorporated cultures from lots of different worlds, including the one that we ourselves live in. This mystery will be uncovered during the course of the story, along with the memories of the strangers.

Inb4 all Lufenians are isekai'd

>cucksoles get 3 days early access
>PC only gets 1 day
This isn't fair.
