>gatekeeping
>950k people playing right now
Blessed be the gatekeepers.
Yes, so? Is this supposed to be a bad thing?
Gatekeeping is good. Imagine the person who came up with that phrase too. It's an oxymoron.
Yes. We are gatekeeping.
What’s the problem?
You deserve to be "gatekept"
Gatekeeping is a good thing.
Shame Elden Ring fucking sucks at it because it's casual as fuck.
Don't care whether she is right or wrong. I'm enjoying the game. That is all that matters.
gatekeeping is good, it will always be good. make your own fucking game if you don't like it, things are allowed to be designed for other people too and not just you forever throughout an entire industry.
1. So what?
2. Overcoming a challenge is central to the design of Souls games (which this Twitter fag is almost certainly talking about). Adding a way to skip the challenge cheapens the experience for everyone.
>twitter screen thread
Nobody would give a flying fuck if you just typed that out here yourself. You'd rightfully get called out as a retard. But because you just fucking screencapped somebody else's post that somehow gives it legitimacy?
bro your summons?
The only people bothered by gatekeeping are those the gate was meant to keep out
or maybe, I don't know...
not all games are meant for everyone faggot
imagine adjustable level difficulty in other things. "this sport is too hard please make it easier"
Elden Ring lets you
>Grind
>Summon NPCs
>Find busted shit by exploring
>Bypass locations entirely by exploring
AND STILL people bitch about difficulty
They should add a difficulty slider, except instead of making the game easier it just makes the already existing difficulty harder
>I just restated the obvious without addressing anything
>I'm pithy, right?
Stardew Valley doesn't have a difficulty slider either, so I guess I was just really gatekept instead of getting bored because it's not my thing.
What about the people who find pokemon too easy now? Should that have added difficulties?
why can't a single game exist that doesn't have a difficulty slider? I thought this was an artistic medium and the creators vision should be respected?
Danke
You are forgetting busted weapons like Moonveil and Sword of Night and Flame or 15 second infinite Comet Azure.
I felt bad for summoning spirits, they make hard fights easier, at least lets you get 30% of damage on boses without a lot of risk. I think thats a good point you make. There is a difficulty toggle, but its intergrated into the game itself.
Thats way too specific and requires knowing about exploits before you start the game. I wouldn't count that in.
>simply gatekeeping
Yes. And here's why that's a good thing.
>stop making difficult games, you're a bad person if you make difficult games!
First of all, gatekeeping is good. You gatekeep your toilet from your kitchen by placing it far away from it and also having doors. Gatekeeping is actually something that should always be done because borders and barriers are inherently good. They're there to delimitate and categorize.
Secondly, some people need to work on their feelings of entitlement, and by that i actually mean cut them out for good.
Thirdly, if she had played the game and put in any amount of effort in, she would know that you can explore and gain equipment that basically nerfs the content's difficulty. I really feel like this way of designing games is the middle ground between unforgiving "git good" games and some people's need to play games without wanting to be challenged, sort of like watching TV. The fact that she felt the need to tweet that proves that she doesn't actually like the game at all, or probably any games, because she didn't even play it enough to realize that she can ignore the difficulty once her character is powerful enough.
Yes, it is gatekeeping. It is very simple: you clearly don't belong inside, so fuck off.
Because artistic freedom is only allowed within the umbrella defined by a bunch of circle jerking Western faggots.
Basically gays and trannies good. But using difficulty to create an oppressive atmosphere, bad. That and it's Westerners mad that they can't get a Jap to bow down.
yeah, this is the definition of "adjustable difficulty."
>gatekeeping is good!
>no we can't gatekeep against twitter screencap threads what are you nuts

Gatekeeping is good.
