>typical time to beat elden ring with varying numbers of deaths
>50-85~ hours
>$60
>one race, 10 uninspired classes
>magic, summons, dex build, faith build, good weapon etc. is “cheating”.

You think these zoomers that think soulsbabby garbage is hard are ever going to touch roguelikes?

No, it’s an acquired taste.

I *never* get to use this reaction image
thank you user

you're somehow a bigger faggot than OP

Dark Souls fags claim their shit is hard but when you beat it easily they sure like to backpedal on that difficulty
>bro you weren't supposed to use that build
>bro you weren't supposed to use that weapon
>bro you weren't supposed to the boss like that
No wonder it's one of the biggest normie draws right now

Eldenbros...we lost...

can you elaborate user?

roguelikes are kino
even non-roguelikes but ASCII based are kino, dwarf fortress both in adventure and fortress mode are so much kino

For me its nethack though

I would put the typical time for winning Frog at 20 - 30 hours, you fucking casual.

I've got hundreds of hours in some Cave games and they consistently take 30 minutes to beat start to finish. That's just going for 1-alls. I don't play Dark Souls or Elden Ring, but it's not really a good argument to say a game is bad because it has a short playthrough.

>20-30
lmao if you can't win pcb in less than 10 you don't know what you're doing

I wish somebody would make a modern game with the same kind of format as bands, centralized town+dungeon now go find the loot. There are some but it seems to have fallen out of favor.

I confess, my fastest time is 11 hours, tell me your secrets

But you don't just go "down" as much as you want they have retarded currency systems to unlock higher maps and shit

they lack the old roguelike "you are on your own" feeling once you go down, or randomized traps and nshit

They've got dungeons though especially Diablo III. And Diablo is basically branching off Angband.

No, I don't think that people that use skill instead of luck would like roguelikes.
