An idea that only exists in people's minds but has physical consequences, such as honour having the consequence of death.

wouldn't that mean every game has spooks then

yeah

Games clearly exist, the systems and TVs we play them on clearly exist, the tasks we need to complete to progress through the game clearly exist. The spooky part is the part that has no direct physical aspect and only affects certain people, such as a lasting compulsion to obediently follow a particular social trend, when the game is already done being played.

Wrong, faggot. Because every game has a politial agenda, which can count as an spook. For examplke in SF2, Guile stage shows american pride which is an idea, no something tangible. And he is a soldier that ultimately in his ending, shows the spook that america is the good guys, when that's bullshit.

You can't live in a society thats spook-free.

The only point you've made is that you have an inferiority complex to America and are living in prison of spooks within your own head.

cool spook

isn't that just nihilism?

Funny that so called rational egoists on Any Forums think larping as an edgelord who murders and steals from others is the most rational course of action when in reality it is in your interest 90% of the time to follow moral guidelines and get along with others unless you want to be shot. it's sad how hard internet memes have butchered rationalism and other anarchist ideas.

no

>Because every game has a politial agenda, which can count as an spook
Agendas aren't necessarily spooks. Would making a sandwich with the intention of eating it for lunch be considered spooky? It would not, but believing you absolutely will be able to eat the sandwich, or they you are morally entitled to eat the sandwich, are spooky. Abstraction isn't spooky, it's absolutism and sacred thinking that are. It is indeed the case that most people are spooked, however, and therefore will make spooky games. That just means naming an unspooked game is suitably challenging.

We already are edgelords who murder and steal from others, because we're complicit in the actions of our respective governing bodies. Stirner just says not to be in denial about it.

Doubtful. The only game that is sufficiently unspooky is tetris.

That's not always being complicit. While if given the choice most people would probably opt out of paying taxes, in reality failure to do so means facing off against an organization far too large for one person to take on realistically. So some people pay taxes not because they want to, but because they are making the rational choice to avoid fighting a hopeless battle.

continental philosophy really is peak midwit.

A nihilist is spooked and claims on absolute grounds nothing has meaning. An egoist who is unspooked will claim meaning is up to them to decide arbitrarily, if they don't feel like spooking you on purpose.

your mom

OMG SPOOKS!!!!!

Then what is the point of this thread? The title should really just be "murder hobo games" and not "spookless games" when most people have no idea what that word really means but I guess OP has to use the hecking reddit buzzword of the month. anyhow prototype (2009) is a very edgy game where you fight zombies and the military and gain health by eating others. Infamous is also like prototype but not as dark.

You'd probably agree that pong and snake is unspooky too. Games with people in them, or gameplay that resembles human behavior, can easily be spooky but In theory they might not be. Is Duke Nukem 3D spooky?

how making a sandwich is having a political agenda?
