We can admit now that it was a flop. It was supposed to revive the series but has pretty much been forgotten already

Halo 3 was discussed and the top played game on Xbox for YEARS

I played like a match and never went back to it. For reference, I basically played more Halo 3 multiplayer than doing anything else in my life (including eating and sleeping) from the years 2007-10.

It's just so eh, I just don't care about it.

because companies keep releasing unfinished games, which underperform and lose against the competition

halo infinite is weaker than halo 3 was in a surrounding that has more noise than back in the day

Halo 3 had to deal with COD 4 and TF2.

also the late 90s and early 2000s were arguably a little golden age for many genres, including music like hip hop, etc.. people have gotten less creative, because they're less connected to their passions and instead follow some cookie cutter money making schemes. look at blizzard - they haven't made a real good game in 20 years and are still riding off of the success those first dedicated people made

Not enough content, new content isn't coming fast enough, and too buggy.

I think it'll go the same way as Halo 5, with a small loyal following but not much outside of that. It also launched in a poor state.

>Not enough content, new content isn't coming fast enough, and too buggy.
This. It has excellent gameplay and is fun as fuck. But the content is nothing compared to the MCC right now. It needs more maps and modes. Everyone's counting on Season 2 delivering good content.

The universal reception was that 343 created a fun game which needed more content
4 months into release and we haven't had a single content drop
343 literally snatched defeat from the jaws of victory

>excellent gameplay
Infinite is halo 5, a game that caused its player base to decline and thus the low appealing halo game(s) to date. People don't and will never like like ads, sprint, clamber, thrusters/hook, slide, high TKK, OP auto weapons, the hydra, cod weapons in Halo. Why play it when Cod, apex, destiny, etc. does it better?

there might be some massive update in 1-2 years that revives it, in its current state it's just unfinished

Pretty much this. Halo hasn't been able to sustain a playerbase since Halo 3 which coincidentally is the last game that wasn't built around shit like sprint and clamber and whatnot

>Infinite is what retards said halo 5 was
ftfy

what did everyone expect? When they said it was going to be free to play that should've been a huge red flag. There should've been massive fan push back from that point before the damage could be done, maybe then the game could've been salvaged. Now I doubt it'll stay relevant for longer than a year or two. I just don't see them supporting this game for a whole decade at this point unless they decided to rehaul it.

>titanfall, quake, tribes are all deader than dead
>i'm literally being forced to play this baby slow ass game against people with aim assist hacks to get my shooter fix
what am i even doing with my life

Halo 3 still had good population because it wasn't altered by 343 like the reach tittle update, which did killed it off. Reach before 343 was still a balanced game, but that update was a sign of the IP's decline under MS. I stopped playing reach because it, btw, Reach TU is version in MCC.

The reach population was mostly gone within the first couple months, the title update didn't kill it

Infinite kinda made me miss the movement set of the previous game.
The hook felt tacked on

My bad for that. I somewhat remembered that now. It was getting harder and harder to find matches and firefight sessions.

>when the game is so shit that even the zoomer bootlickers and the sprint niggers from Halo 5 can't defend
Get fucked, 343. I hope it keeps dying out of spite

it is heavily nerfed in mp. you cant even really incorporate the hook with your regular movement.

I see
I've only ever played the single player part of the Halo games
