>becomes completely obsolete after Elden Ring
Becomes completely obsolete after Elden Ring
It was obsolete one week after launch when people realized its just a coat of paint that didnt fix or rework any of the numerous issues
Demons Souls always felt like a beta for Dark Souls anyway, it was half a product. Dark Souls second half felt the same. Shame really.
It's better than all of From Software's work
It's ok Xbros maybe Microsoft can buy you an exclusive Fronmsoft game.
>after Elden Ring
That's where you're wrong. In an absolutely brilliant move on part of the developers, they were able to adapt the trademark "time is convoluted" element to the development of the Demons Souls remake by making it obsolete as soon as the superior PS3 version was made, which turned out to be 11 years in the past. So it's been obsolete since before it existed.
And yet graphically, it (still) looks like an entire generation ahead of Elden Ring
>ps5 game looks better than ps4 game
no shit son
Where does the poor second half begin for you? And what would you have preferred they do instead?
>gets btfo by the game it was attempting to poorly imitate
devs like bluepoint and mercurysteam are hacks, incapable of making anything of value
Openworld got boring after you get to the lake which is barely past 20 hours mark, the game goes on for another 30 to 40 so most of those contents are a drag. Best parts of elden ring are the Lord dungeons - set pieces which Demon and DS have plenty for Soul enjoyers
After the lordvessel, where you basically get a bunch of jobs to do around, I prefered the first half cause exploring and progressing felt natural instead a rush to the end.
Does the Demon Souls remake look better than Elden Ring? Legit asking cuz from what I seen it looks like DS looks better graphicswise.
Elden Ring looks great and all but I feel its way more demanding than it deserves tho be.
sure
>caring about graphics that much
dumb brainlet nigger
kek
so thats a "yes" then
I'll be honest, I kinda prefer DaS3. ER needs some work.
I went through most of DeS but it didn't really grab me.
The whole game is a linear slog save for places like upper latria which are just confusing and messy, although some will derive fun from these predicaments. The game is pad out by constantly barring you off from progression until you've played other areas.
I did find world tendency to be an excellent idea though
Except time isn't convoluted in Demon's Souls. It was just a cope-out put in DS1. IN DeS it made perfect sense why you invade and why people killed can return. It's only iun the latter games that the plot became written around the mechanics.
>sure
>that much
I just asked you retarded monkey.
Probably desu. I imagine they tone down the graphics to maximize detail in the open world. This is the only open world game I've ever played where I never saw LOD artifacts or disappearing bullshit. DS can obviously maximize detail on little things. I haven't played the DS remake and I play Elden Ring on medium settings.
Elden Ring is literally an amalgamation of everything they've done previously and some ideas they weren't able to implement at the time.
>I just asked you retarded monkey.
I kid you not the DS remake is still the best looking game this gen.
This x100. The DeS remaster was just a remastering of a flawed game without fixing any of the flaws. It's also a PS5 exclusive during the time when PS5s were hard to get.
It never had a chance.
It really does look fantastic. All those glints and speculars, good god rays, nice harsh shadows. It's more in the direction than technical excellence. This is just from youtube videos I've watched, I'm sure it's better in game.
More like best sounding. They made a amazing job with the ambient soundscape.
>without fixing any of the flaws.
The only flaw DeS had was the lack of Penetrator armor. Well now it's in making the game perfect.
>its just a coat of paint that didnt fix or rework any of the numerous issues
Not only that, but a coat of paint that smeared over the original game's artstyle in the name of "photorealism".
I always thought the soul/soulless meme was ridiculous until I saw the DeS Remake.
someone's mad
Demons Souls BP was designed from conception to be a graphical showpiece to sell niche audiences to the PS5. Sony knew they had something great with BB, and it did a lot to evangelise the hardcore PS4 community in its timeframe, who would then promote it on sites like this. BB fanboys in particular behave somewhat like a cult.
When people lament that a game like say, ER, doesn't the graphical finesse of Demons Souls, they fail to the understand the myriad circumstances that allow that to be possible.
Here are some to consider:
>Bluepoint were given a core-game to work from, as in, everything from the engine, the gameplay, the bosses, the story the base art to draw from, the music, the multiplayer etc. Their were no major hurdles for them to get over that could have resulted in mid-development design shifts. Somehow they still managed to fuck up parts of the aesthetic and twisted subtle music themes into bombastic nonsense, but that's another discussion completely.
>So their primary task, as a game development studio, was solely to improve upon the graphics, which is comfortable position a studio developing a game from the ground-up are never afforded
>In addition, they were provided cutting-edge PS5 development tools and insider knowledge of specs/systems/expectations by the platformer holder, to fashion the absolute best looking game they could
Not only is ER a colossal open world game, diverging massively from the level-based design of their previous efforts, but it's also packed with a colossal amount of content, from bosses to legacy dungeons. The ambition, especially from a Japanese studio tied to a publisher known for being skimpy, is utterly insane, and it's nigh miraculous they actually pulled it off.
Elden ring is out and this game still lives rent free in your insecure Sony hating life
Trust me, no one is thinking about DeS Demake.
I can't tell whether this is a bait or genuine
Except if ER was running on a good engine not another revision of the Demon's Souls one it would look amazing. The game engine is so outdated it lack features you had in games on PS2. The grass is static, the trees use of lower quality and density than oblivion in 06, enemy pathfinding simply doesn't work in the open world if the enemy can't draw a straight line towards you, no animation blending meaning everything looks stiff, locked framerates, amazingly short gras distance rendering shorter than BotW(which in fact had a fully physics driven engine) From should have gone the Kojima way and source the engine from Guerrilla. .
PC release is inevitable at this point.
