Is FC6 shit? I've watched a few reviews and comparisons to older FC games (which I love). I can't decide.
Ubishit is having a sale on FC6. $78 for the $119 'UItimate' version. I'm really tempted, but know I'm going to slap my own shit if Ubisoft stops being cunts and puts it on Steam or the MS Store. Especially the MS Store, since then I'd get a free copy for Xbox if I bought the PC version from them. Or, you know, someone cracks it but I don't have a lot of faith in that.
I preordered the shit after I started playing for the second time FC5. I liked 5 so much I did that crime. I haven't played it yet but I did get the big version.
FC5 is so fucking comfy. The only problem is once you master it, it's completely trivial. Base capturing is just sitting in a bush and cycling all your Guns for Hire two by two to clear the place out for an easy Undetected/No Alarms. I wish it was harder. New Dawn is a great epilogue, but has that same problem of becoming trivial once you upgrade your weapons enough that the bullet-sponge mechanic is irrelevant.
I never managed to do stealth with the ai frens. I am doing something wrong and they get detected. I go solo when I want stealth 90% I am alone.

I just use binoculars from a bush 100 yards away to point them at people to attack after moving Boomer to the middle of the outpost to tag all the enemies (they won't attack him unless he attacks first). When the guns for hire get detected, it's doesn't count as YOU being detected. And the enemies won't hit the alarms at all over Guns for Hire showing up and killing people.
Nick Rye is pretty much untouchable, but kills at a slow pace. The rest will kill a person or two, then die themselves, at which point you just remove them and add in one of the others that's still alive.

There's a short list of like 5 franchises where I'll pay for the game off-sale. I would have bought FC6 at full price if it was on GamePass. The last one I bought was Hitman III after the EGS exclusive shit wore off. Nothing wrong with splurging if you're really into the series. I only buy 4 or 5 games per year.

the game world was excellently crafted and i enjoyed exploring it all the way. the story was absolute dogshit and the gameplay wasn't very good either.
Having fun. Not cheesing the system is a lot more fulfilling. But it gets old after a while. You can never get that first-playthrough-feeling back again.
It's weird how great the worlds look, but how terrible the characters are rendered. I think it has something to do with the shaders. If you catch the light just right, they look good. But during gameplay, it's all wrong.
Anyway, time to get my game on. 0% progression. Let's goooo
