Why did the Overwatch hype die?

Why did the Overwatch hype die?

People realized TF2 will always reign supreme

Because hype was literally the only thing the game had going for it, and it inevitably ran out

When they introduced ranked matches

It's a game that came out 6 years ago, user. Now that I think about it, it came out the same year as Forza Horizon 3 and that game is so dead you can't even buy it anymore.

Honestly, when I see the state of WoW, I'm happy OW isn't getting many story developments.

no depth into any of the heroes. It's video game claustrophobia. The more heroes they add the worst the game becomes.

They could not balance at all so it fucked them over in the long run.

They needed to release more girls, once the sfm material dried up they became irrelevant.

Because is not Team Fortress 2

12v12 server format is superior to 6v6 ranked matchmaking with class queues.

theres very few maps, they constantly nerfed anything remotely fun or interesting, and new heros typically ruined their dogshit balance in some way
also isn't there a fucking que for playing the game casually now where you're locked into playing damage tank or support and you can't switch roles mid-game like its a fucking MMO?

>playing vanilla TF2 when TF2 Classic exists

Blizz killed it with making everyone follow the OWL meta they envisioned, OW2 is vaporware and nobody cares anymore, and the recent Blizz fiascos were just the last nails in the coffin

It's a bad game, porn was the only thing it had going for it

That's a shitty custom weapons server.
Play on normal servers.

When they catered to MLG faggots and forced team compositions. When you could choose 6 of the same heroes it was fun

It stopped being open beta and became unfun.

tf2c runs about as well as the current version of tf2 (that is to say, like shit) and the weapon additions are not what i think of when i hear "classic"
i played it when it came out and until people stopped hosting 2007 flashback servers so i stopped playing, simple as

Because the game is shit.

Current OW is better than current TF2. It hurts to say it, and it hurts even more to accept it. I've not tried Classic TF2 severs though.

admit it, you saved this because you think she's cute

>haven't play it in a while
>download and do some quickplay
>have fun

Stop posting this plagiarizing whore

Widowtracer porn is the only saving grace this game has left
Somehow they are just the perfect lesbian dynamic

Because when you balance your entire game around a KimchiSport broadcast that nobody watches, every match plays as flat and predictably as the last.

After enough balance patches rolled out, and especially with an absolute molasses drip of any new content at all, it quickly got to a point where you'll literally never see something new happen. You're either on the team that deathballs, or the team that wins, and nothing fun or weird is allowed unless you quarantine yourself to a playlist with 4 global players.

Not to mention, with all of your heroes being hard-countered monotaskers, you'll get screamed at and reported for picking outside the meta 60% of an already tiny roster, so you'll see the same heroes, on those same maps.

Once the shine of pixar-ish production quality wore off, even the most tasteless of normies could see that there's fuckall left to do in the game except grind ELO in a system that ambiguates your performance against 5 other players at a time, or log in once every 4 months for a boring (or just plain recycled) PvE event that's over in 20 minutes.
