Why does the sequel feel so soulless compared to the original and its DLCs? Is it just the changed art style? On paper the sequel is superior in every way, and it was created ny the same creative team.

they must have switched writers though. all the flavor text and dialogue was awful. especially billies diary

it just all feels fake and forced. the targets in 1 all felt like real people, their dialogue was good.

But if it's ever confirmed that the whole thing is just Alan Wake trying to write his escape, it will instantly become 0/10 to me.

Repetitive due to poor encounter design and it has Mass Effect 1 levels of too much incremental upgrade loot spam. The basic gameplay is fun, but it's used in a way that's too monotonous.

It's not omg 10/10 best ever, but I think it's Remedy best since Max Payne.
Unlike Alan Wake which was too much writing and not enough actual game, Control is both interesting to explore and fun to play as long as those invisible niggers that go REEE for 95% of your health stay the fuck away.
