>let's make two open world Pokemon games at the same time instead of focusing all of our efforts on one
Who the fuck thought that was a good idea?

This is your Salazzle for tonight. Say something nice about her.
Game Freak
It's kinda crazy to think that open-world started in 2001 with GTA 3 and it's taken Japan practically 20 years to catch up
A studio that owns a franchise whose fanbase has been proven time and time again to buy anything it shits out as long as it has its brand name attached to it.
What are you talking about? Open world games were invented 5 years ago with Zelda 64.
because they'll know they'll buy it
>game freak is spitballing ideas for gen 4 remakes
>realize they want to do something more ambitious
>get some literal whos to shit out a remaster while they work on Arceus
>the tech is simultaneously being put to use on the next main series entry
Reminder that the yearly release cycle for Pokemon has been a thing for quite some time now, with only a few exceptions (2021 being one of them, technically)
>efforts
greed freak
How the fuck is GTA 1 and 2 not open world?
have you ever played GTA 1 and 2? I'm guessing no
Nintendo
Don't they have multiple teams to work on two games at the same time?
Legends Arceus was a glorified beta test
they only have 167 employees
Why the fuck can RTS, racing, etcs, uffer from annual fatigue
But fucking cod is immune
And fucking pokemon is even immune-er (not even a word).
Dogshit world
And people still bought it, so yes it was a good idea.
Do you think if Ed Gein had internet access he would have never killed those women?
the heads who want to make money, and based on all the dipshits who bought arceus they were right
Asseus was the beta test
Pokemon sells even if the game is absolute shite.
So why release one pile of shit when you could release two and get double the money?
It’s just fun, user
Because the past doesn't exist unless it fits their world view. Zelda on the NES is open world. Nobody ever calls it that.
CONSOOM culture. If you meet the people who buy these games and talk to them, you'll note that they log some 3-5 hours on the game and then stop. Quality doesn't matter because they don't really play. They just buy so they can open conversations with "Oh, have you played the new x?" and talk for a bit about the start of the game before moving on to talk about politics, sports or netflix series.
Legends isn't open world, that was a marketing ploy
Doubt gen 9 will be either
