Does ER have a good story?

Does ER have a good story?
Do you just aimlessly wander or you actually try to accomplish some meaningful overarching task in the game world?

go back to playing god of war or something faggot

None of these souls games have a good story

>read the item descriptions!!!

Suck my cock lol

>run up to any npc in these games
>"ohhhhhhhhh tarnished one, you've really done it this time. mehhehehehehehehe you've really got it cut out for you this time nyehehehehe
>ecelebs: OMG THE ABSOLUTELY AMAZING STORY SO MUCH LORE HOLY SHIT IT'S DELIBERATELY UNDERSTATED IT'S A MASTERPIECE
Rinse and repeat for the 5th time now.

Jesus, this game really has the tendies SEETHING

80% of the story is in the first 5-minute cutscene of the game.

There's nothing to this game. It's a complete waste of time.

Theres an overarching goal but its so vague that it basically amounts to a list of bosses to kill.

>story
does people here seriously never played a souls game before? Its always been like this

So literally every souls game?

>reddit spacing
how about you go back instead

You should and always finish the game main quest line. I did this with every open world game I have ever played. If I do not like the story or the ending I quit playing and find a new videogame and I never play that one again. Such as with fallout 4, they warn you immediately out the gate when your neighborhood dies and they then murder your wife and take your child right in front of you, which you then wake back up long after he’s grown up. Kinda hinting to you, isn’t it? Do you want to go to that hell with that situation? I learned that I don’t. You can too.

Yeah but why bother parading around George rr whatever if it doesn't matter

Considering nobodies actually spoiled anything in the index i have to assume that A) there is nothing to spoil because this is a certified Miyazaki classic and there is no story to spoil in the first place, or B) There is a story but it sucks and is basically backround radiation to justify epic anime bossfights

no

so what exactly did this talentless hack did in elden ring? the story is the exact same vaque background noise of every dark souls game

Attached: file.png (1210x544, 615.5K)

From what I've gathered
>Bunch of demigods all born to some bitch whose power has waned
>They each hold a piece of the elden ring
>duke it out amongst themselves for power, referred to as "The Shattering," no one wins, everybody gets fucked up, cue the current state of the world
>along comes you, a tarnished from the fog, to restore conservative values, kill these uppity silicon valley tech CEOs, and sit atop the elden throne for no other reason than because you feel it
>the church keeps telling you how fucking awesome you are
Maybe I missed something, but the gist seems to be Game of Elden Thrones.

>build a foundation to the game to help the developers build enemies/souls like lore/locations into the game
>attract attention to sell more
It's not hard to undestand

Above the surface it’s a story of a ruined land after the rules were broken. Below the surface it seems the rules were broken by some space shit. Those impact craters on the stormviel castle look like meteor strikes.

He wrote the booke they based reddit thrones off of or whatever so people thought this one would have a plot or something lol

It's PC players. I know, I am one and this game sucks.

sales from normie retards
the difference is that rarely finding an npc in a castle full of undead makes sense, but the bigger you go in scale the worse it feels when there aren't npcs around
in elden ring it's fucking laughable, you're supposed to think this is a living world yet there's basically barely npcs in it, it's jarring
i'm 25h in and i feel i've met maybe 2 npcs in the last 20 hours
admittedly i explored a lot early on, but this still feels incredibly unsatisfying to say the least

In every game it's an intro with some lore, cryptic dialogue, and item descriptions. It's worldbuilding but it barely counts as a story.

i think fromsoft radically changed the game development and thus the story because a lot of things seem weird
for one, grrm hasn't posted ANYTHING about this game despite being super far up his own ass and mentioning every little project he's a part of, but one of the biggest games in the world released and it's advertised everywhere with his name and instead his latest blog is about some fucking literal who native american cop show he's producing?
nah, miyazaki did something that the fat man did not like
another thing i noticed was how cheap the intro was compared to other games
dark souls 1 and 3 both had pretty cool intro cinematics, here you just get an infodump with some artwork, yawn

Brand recognition. They put his game on the box and GRRM gets to rake in royalties for doing basically fuckall.

Based

Miyazaki wrote better lore than the fat tolkien and he will seethe to his grave.

i doubt he cares much when he doesn't care about people destroying his own work on television
