The most unparalleled intro.
No fucking cutscenes, no pointless tutorial.
This is World 1-1. You have 3 lives. One second later and you're off to rescue the princess.
It's honestly sad that games are no longer willing to open up like this. No confidence in their premise, they NEED to wow people with their cinematics.

ARE YOU GREAT?
WE ARE GREAT
z2 was so kino, holy shit
Top this.
Megaman Zero series was so awesome, it was legitimately thrilling to see a new entry when I went to look at the games in Walmart as a kid
Step aside plebians, one true king coming through.

God that shit was so fucking memorable. I remember being little and replaying the shit out of the intro just because I thought Zero was a badass
Bump
>inti-creates is formed in 1996
>the x series takes a nosedive in quality a few years later with X5, and never recovers
>meanwhile inti creates starts making mega man games
>the zero series quickly becomes the best one in the entire franchise
>fast forward to 2022
>inti creates is still dedicated to making great action platformers
>meanwhile capcom has been neglecting mega man
>2 of the 3 mega man games released in the last 14 years have even been developed by inti creates
its clear where the talent went
>with X5
It started with X4.
>inti creates is still dedicated to making great action platformers
Some of them have been kind of a miss.
>It started with X4.
X4 is on par with X1, if not better
>Some of them have been kind of a miss.
90% hits over a ton of attempts is way better than one (1) hit in over ten years.

Just from the visual fidelity alone, this is what I always imagined an honest-to-god Sonic movie to look like. If you extended that fight scene in the beginning to the length of the whole thing, it'd be almost the perfect ending to one, too.
