The original just received a mod that gives it better graphics and textures than any official HD project. We pretty much have a good remake through this alone, Capcom can now do whatever the fuck they want because the original's gameplay still holds up today (and I say this as a new player who didn't play it back in the day, so there's no bias here) and the mod looks great. There are no stakes here because of this.
Let them take out the ballistics, let them cover up Ada, let them stop Leon flirting with Hunnigan, it won't get rid of the original. The remake is doomed to be worse regardless.

As dumb as this remake is, I’m genuinely psyched for it. I am curious to see what RE4 in the RE2R engine will be like, the two games seem so incompatible. Even if it turns out to be utter shit, it’ll still be novel to see.
