FF7

Having a lot of fun with Trials of Mana, Its amazing to me that SE can pull off a great remake like that producing a complete and full experience that is modern but at the same time faithful to the original game's visuals and experience, and then drop the ball so badly with FF7.

I'm on chapter 8, hard mode difficulty. Maxed out my warding and elemental materia today. Still a bit to do on magic up and luck up etc. Hard mode is weird, normal enemies seem just as easy but bosses hit like trucks and soak up a ton of damage.

My third run through though and really enjoying it. Can't remember the last time I went through something more than once. Think I'm gonna replay the original after I've exhausted this.

Dont think so

Thats because they really didnt care for trials of mana, meanwhile they wanted to do something special with remake instead of just a rehash.

does anyone here really understand Sephiroths backstory?

What is there to understand? its pretty simple.

>>dumb story
Literally the only valid complaint. This is 7R, not the original.

Play Crisis Core.

he is just a normal guy that was given space alien DNA?

>Thats because they really didnt care for trials of mana
Which is funny because it really is a great complete game and a well done faithful remake.

>meanwhile they wanted to do something special with remake
And failed utterly since its not a remake but another action sequel that is much more limited in scope that has been badly misrepresented.
A remake of Final Fantasy 7 was supposed to be Square Enix's ace in the hole, but upper management botched it horribly.
They should have called in Ever Crisis, and put some more resources into the actual remake they're producing.

Its really telling the SE has no faith in the so-called "remake" they they've only launched it on platforms willing to pay rather than relying on actual sales.

sephiroth was born as an experiment, but he doesnt know it
as he goes up in the ranks, he becomes stoic
he discover that hes an experiment in the nibelheim mission, considers himself a monster and hates his makers
later he reads gast reports and thinks hes a descendant of the ancients, and learns that the ancients got wiped out thanks to his makers ancestors that refused to continue with their cetra travellings
So he hates humanity and considers himself the ancient savior, decides to take jenova and complete his destiny

Eh, ive played both and while trails of mana is "safer", it is also more boring. I guess it is fine that they decided to make it faithful, but in the end it wasnt anything but a cumrag. Something you play, you remember and you are done with it. For its price and attention, it was fine.
Remake actually makes an effort on not only remaking the game but also rise up the scales and give you the same feeling as if you were playing the original for the first time again. Whether you like it or not, it doesnt matter. Just go replay the original.

so his father used science to make him into a chad?

his father was just mad and wanted to experiment with jenova, and lucrecia offered his uterus to give birth to sephiroth in the name of science

not even the game you're thinking of user.

so why was sephiroth an angel?

>not only remaking the game
I think you mean NOT remaking the game. It doesn't even make it past the tutorial area of the original game.
Its an embarrassment that SE's supposedly premiere team can't produce a complete game even after years of working on it.

Meanwhile teams within the company with barely any resources by comparison manage to remake a complete game even with far less assets readily at hand.

Remake? it was a flop and a letdown. Not worthy of your time, energy, money or even a pirate. It's a anime movie game that could have been another spin off cgi movie that could have been resolved in 90 minutes.

Because Kefka was at the end and they had to at least try to match the best Final Fantasy villain.

>manage to remake a complete game
It has less content and less involvement than remake part 1. Not to mention less fun factor. But keep comparing apples and oranges.

I think the reason that it failed is because they didn't build upon anything they learned as developers to that point and were out of touch with their own franchise and fan base as well.
KINGDOMHEARTS! IT SOLD! Lets do that for FF!
Meanwhile it was outsourced and mishandled. Unnecessary design changes and story changes. I wish i wanted before buying the copy expecting square to deliver a high polished product. The scenes look like they were stapled together half the time because of the textures that change.

Dogshit story aside, it's really tedious. I had to force myself to finish it. It only got worse the longer I played. I'm amazed SE are willing to mishandle their golden goose like this. But I guess there are "very special" people who will see Cloud and Sephiroth and hand their cash over regardless of how shit the game is.

Almost every other game in the history.
FF7 demake was fucking awful.

You're a faggot and your bloodline will end with you unless you have siblings. Go apologize to your parents since you won't be giving them grandkids.

Is English your first language or 5th you got from one of those 1990 laser disks?

First language, why?
Also, I remember seeing laser discs at pawn shops back in the day (where I bought some fighting games for PS1), but never actually watched them. Was the quality decent at all?

yes
Trails is GOAT
better than FF
Not to mention this is only part 1 of however many fucking parts nomura thought of
it's been almost two years and not even a whiff of when part 2 is coming out either
PS6 will be announced by the time we get to Aeris dying

why did Tifa have sex with Johnny?
