Why does it look so unmistakably scary. Part of the reason the og animatronics looked so creepy was because they still had some charm to them and they looked like something that you could actually see at a kids pizzeria. The new animatronic designs try way too hard to seem threatening so they just end up looking less creepy than the og ones.
Closest to okay looking FNAF+ design is Freddo.
Other ones kind of suck.

What they need is a liveservice game with consistent content rollouts funded my a battlepass system and micropayments fueled by smart third party player cosmetics and paid promotional items. The fact is, the ip has a large install base that is more than willing to have fnaf be their go-to media outlet and currently the franchise is not capitalizing on that. As someone who counts beans for a living, it's a piss poor showing and at this rate it be better to sell off in an aquisition/merger

So the murderer, he murdered kids to steal their ghost juice, but in doing so, their ghosts haunt the robots, making them spoopy ghost robots. He also made robots specifically to steal ghost juice, they are haunted too. His son tried to stop it, and now he's a zombie powered by ghost juice, and the murderer was killed hiding in a robot, which he possessed while his remains were in it, so he's now a ghost robot zombie. But his mind was uploaded to a vr game and he's now a ghost robot zombie virus.
So he's Sigma?
I want this fangame to succeed but it is trying to hard to make the animotrics look creepy.

The costume has been used for a long time so it probably tore during one of the few times it was cleaned. Or it could be a rip from a night guard trying to escape
Because the restaurant is a cheap and run-down facility that spends as little on maintenance as it can get away with
The murderer is a co-inventor of the cheap robots. He finds out some supernatural shit somehow and starts making these robots with tools that can extract some kind of soul energy by killing kids. His motives are never stated at all or how this soul energy even works.
Daughter gets killed accidently by one. Starts killing more kids outside/inside of the restaurants. One kid possesses a robot so that he can put the other victims in other robots for vengeance. Murderer notices this and dismantles them, but releases the spirits which scare him into hiding in the closest thing in the room, an old rusty robots suit that immediately malfunctions and kills him while inside. He now possesses that suit.
His son works at an underground storage for robots produced by him, but ends up getting killed and his body used as a meat costume for an amalgamation of robots that want to escape the place. They abandon the body when it rots, but the soul energy fuckery causes the son to come back to life in the empty husk, now follows his father to stop him.
The other co-inventor designs one last pizzaria as a trap to lure the murderer and all the other possessed robots into it to set them all on fire. The son also gets a job there, and when the place is set on fire, he purposely stays so that they all go down together.
The end but not really.
Some cheap VR indie company finds damaged hardware from somewhere. They're actually pieces of the murderers suit, reviving himself as a virus and trying to mind control workers with the groups VR game. Girl gets mind fucked almost fully. Gets a job as security in a new pizza mall thats built on top of the last pizzaria. Kids go missing again. She puts together a new body for the murderer with one of the robots of the new mall. An even bigger amalgamation of the old robots is living under the mall because lol. Little kid causes the place to cave in, and the big robot pile stops the murderer from escaping last second.
fnaf is in a weird place where the original succeeded on its jankiness, but a remake could still do it better
