Why would I go into a game completely blind?
What if it's not even in the same genre as I would like it to be?
If I were a fromsoft fan and heard it was making a new game, but I also categorically hated all open world games, I might feel robbed by going in blind.
Cope
I kneel
I expected Dark Souls 4 and from what I've seen it's Dark Souls 5, so I'm definitely going to have fun.
I had bloodborne spoiled in its entirety before getting a ps4 years later and still enjoy the fuck out of it
I didn't know anything about it and it was an unforgettable experience. You might have enjoyed it but not as much as you would have if you had gone in blind.
Bump
i watched every leak, stream, and spoiler
and still going to enjoy it because im retarded and cant remember anything
niger
>just buy the game blind bro because... because i said it's good, you don't want to feel fomo right?
i fucking hate normalfags so god damn much
I am literally the first 5 panels but I have tons of fun when the game actually comes out.
The ultimate redpill is realizing there is no such thing as spoilers, and that they don't matter. If having something "spoiled" for you ruins it for you, you never really liked that thing to begin with, or it simply wasn't good. If knowing Vader is Luke's father ruins Star Wars for you, you never liked Star Wars. If it was that easy to ruin Star Wars, the series would have been dead long before Disney ever bought it. We still love that original trilogy because it's great regardless of how many times you watched it.
By the same token, if Elden Ring "spoilers" ruin the game for me, I daresay Elden Ring was never a good game at all. However, I have absolute faith that the game is good, so I'm sure I'll enjoy the shit out of it.
Enjoy having your experience ruined I guess.
i'm gonna ruin your asshole bitch
>"If you're not getting fucked up the ass you're not really having sex."
>"I literally smashed my girlfriend's pussy and enjoyed the shit out of it."
>"You might have enjoyed that a bit, but you would have enjoyed getting fucked up your ass way more."
i only haven't watched the trailer because i never do for any souls game, the trailer is the fucking intro cinematic for most games anyway
>Release day. Why am I not having fun?
Because you're playing the game with a mouse and keyboard you drooling imbecile.
M&KB is the optimal way to play Souls games post PtD
But you would enjoy it more if you went in blind.
Actually I enjoy it more being spoiled. I always prefer to spoil movies, games and books for myself, that way I can truly enjoy them and judge them honestly.
If the enjoyment of something continges on being surprised or "unspoiled", it simply isn't good story telling. You know why you can watch a good movie over and over again, year after year, and still love it every time? Because it probably has something worth watching every time, whether it's the action or the storytelling or what have you.
Without having to worry about being "surprised" by the story and focusing more on actually trying to figure out what happens, I'd rather already know what happens and just be able to enjoy the way the movie or game presents that story to me. Therefore I can properly judge whether or not it's truly a great story that can stand on its own merits, even after knowing everything that's going to happen. Like I can tell you EVERYTHING that happens in Star Wars: you can STILL enjoy the original trilogy afterwards because they're just plain great movies. In fact, you enjoy them more after you watch them the first time. You can appreciate how hard it was to make and how timeless it is.
Believe me, there are people who enjoy playing like that. I have a friend who watched multiple playthroughs of DS2 and 3, read boss strategies etc, knew exactly where each desirable item is, all before launching them for the first time.
Has hundreds of hours in both games.
Watch some short gameplay to see if you like it. And then, if you don't, refund.
You're coming off kind of soi my guy. It's just a video game
Cope.
yeah that's my kinda policy: Yeah, being surprised is neat, but it's not as neat as seeing the stuff, and then going out of your way to ponder "how did it get like this? Why did this guy do that" instead of "wow look at this boss"
