Tony Hawk thread because the last one was deleted for no reason

How is almost every game in this franchise so good? I can't decide which is best within 1-4. I think it's three but idk

Remake Venice is my comfy play, I just free skate it and try to get a really high line

I haven't played THPS4 much but out of the first 3 i'd say 2 is the best, the skating mechanics might not be as tight as 3 but the levels and music was much better imo. Plus heavier nostalgia of course.

Eh, after I played Skate I had trouble going back to Tony Hawk. It was much more "arcadey" feeling and I really appreciated the attempt at a more authentic skateboarding game. Not to say they're bad games, I certainly played the everliving fuck out of 1, 2 and 3. I even skateboard in the actual world for a year.

THPS3 on the PS2 is my favourite, great soundtrack, great levels, great cheats, great selection of skaters, great skate park editor

Vicarious Visions remake is honestly kino, took me back to my childhood. Shame that the online doesn't have text chat, that was always hilarious in the old days

I think they steadily improve until at least THUG. They all refine the gameplay and add depth, but THUG2's minor improvements don't justify the massive downgrade in story, and THAW's improvements don't justify how annoying it is that half the game story is a tutorial.

favourite level? mine is Suburbia, I love the autumn Halloween aesthetic and the houses and trailers have a good layout for linking tricks

No online free skate is it's worst sin.

Competitive modes only doesn't work at all either, they could have at least added some more non-skill based competitive modes or something. I play on switch and a lot of the time I have to go easy on people online because I know getting absolutely stomped over and over isn't fun at all for them. But then some faggot joins that is better than me and just ruins all the fun by winning by millions and millions of points every match until everyone just leaves.

Yeah some of my fondest memories are playing Underground free skate and learning all the glitches with everyone typing about them in text chat. Then some guy shared his glitched character with me that had infinite manual and lip balance

I started playing 2 (the OG) again and what was the unlock condition for Skate Heaven? Google says it's finding all gaps but I had the level unlocked on PS1 and I could swear I didn't complete the gap list on that save.

Honestly 4 is probably the most Boomer fucking game in the series. I don't mean the game is bad it's absolutely great, but everything from the music, the UI, the Clothing, the missions, are all so fucking boomer it's honestly pretty hilarious.

3 is is literal god tier no one can argue with that

4 felt really lame with the whole mission by mission structure and the maps were too big for their own good, still was a good game though. 3 and 2 are so close but 2's music and maps are just better
also is downhill jam worth emulating? I bought it for $3 and didn't realize the motion controls were irredeemably trash

I'm sure I just got there with a cheat code. My Googling says the condition is getting 100% in every character's career modes, but I never unlocked those because I found it annoying to have to do the exact same game 15 times with different skins.

3 is the best in the series. The levels and goals are so good the game is literally perfect. It's one of those rare games you can play just for the sake of playing. THPS3 was the game that got me back into playing video games in my early 20s. I still go back to it every now and then on Dolphin emulator. Soooooooooo good, it's crazy.

As someone with many top 100 scores for levels in thps 1+2 PC and xbox these are the correct rankings. Going by fun, not by sweaty tryhard scores, if that were the case underground 2 would be top. Underground 1 would be #1 if it wasn't for the perfect balance glitch.
