Cathay didn't have any lore or real interaction with the Empire. Araby invaded Fantasy Spain and that resulted in Empire and Bretland uniting in a crusade against them.

Any actual chinks will be offended with this inclusion. They gave female soldiers and lords yang affinity.

The chad skellington that starts in Araby, he doesn't get the infinite hordes that other Tomb Kings get so instead he rolls up on Araby once a century or two and culls a few hundred thousand to refill his army.

imo they're really fucking boring to play, empire without the rich lore history & a dime-a-dozen chinese copypasta race theme. I wouldn't be surprised if they recycled assets from 3 kingdoms, maybe in the future more units will get added but as it stands they're just so fucking boring and outclassed by literally any of the chaos factions & ESPECIALLY ogres in terms of rule of cool/fun play

I cannot fathom chaos dwarves not being in this, kislev was already pushing it but them inventing two whole asspull factions with little to no actual lore/units from a game with 30+ years of books to draw from on more interesting races is just silly. they're literally just a 3 kingdoms race copy-pasted into warhammer with some dragon bullshit added for flair.

They're just chinese elves without the dozens of books & years of lore to draw on. There were so many other factions that deserved a spot over cathay.

Its maybe the most balanced out faction in all three games, has surprisingly in depth faction mechanics, is thematically distinct from everything else, and those dragon animations are not bad. Your china paranoia is spoiling your own fun and you have nobody to blame but yourself.

Cathay doesn't throw the balance of the setting off and furthermore expands it in a new direction, so it's not a bad addition.

But it's the porn potential with human-dragon shapeshifters and hybrid offspring, that makes Cathay a based addition.

What are they going to do for DLC? Nothing needs updates now that Beastmen are through the loop and the only remaining characters to make into LL's are literal who's like Thanquol or too big to be a credible, balanced things like Nagash.

Chorfs obviously, and who knows what other obscure factions they may whip up. The Daemon factions are all very bare boned as well and obviously set up for expansion. With the timeline vaguery and how unexpected some of their choices have been in the past, its anyone's guess.

Chorfs obviously. For new LL's slecifically I think they're gonna go with just updating 3's factions since they need a LOT of love to match how fuckassbloated the 1&2 factions are. Cathay and Kislev are gonna jeed some HUGE fucking ad-libbing for that though.
