What is the best way to play Majora's Mask on PC currently on the twenty-third day of February in the year two-thousand and twenty-two?
I have never played MM before; the expansion pak filtered me when I was kid and I could never find one at local used game resellers.
I want my first time to be authentic to the original gameplay and feature-wise, while taking advantage of better resolutions and models because there is just no other reason to play with worse graphics if there are better options.
I like the added geometry of the 3DS remake, but I heard that the gameplay was changed for the worst in a lot of ways.
So, what are my options for best first time MM experience on PC?
There is an user with a copy pasta showing you how to set some shit up, he might post it but you can find it in the archives.
Basically P64 with Nerrel's texture pack though, there are some other mods/fixes but idk what the point of them are, just that setup is fine for me. If you don't want to use that texture pack(you should though it's good) just play it vanilla.
Ignore people talking about the 3DS remake.

just download a rom and an emulator, plug in your controller and give 'er a rip

Don’t. Play it on original hardware. Emulation is for fags.

I once heard that the 3DS remake had a fan patch that fixes those gameplay changes. Is that still not a favorable option compared to Nerrel's texture pack? My PC can run Citra. Otherwise I'll just do Nerell's :)

There are more issues than just gameplay, ignore them seriously or just become one of them and my enemy.
Out of curiosity, what else don't you like about the 3DS version? I has better models and there is a supposedly good patch for it. Is there something else wrong with it?
