I don’t see why there’s so much hate for the souls games. They’re genuinely interesting games if you enjoy exploration and finding hidden items and areas without the internet’s help. The combat and boss fights are just side content really to add a bit of a challenge here and there.
I don’t see how people who have played at least one or two of these would be all that excited about boss fights (the actual gameplay) at this point. I genuinely don’t think very many people care all that much for them, even if they find them somewhat easy or manageable. For most, more than likely, they like seeing the boss, hearing the score and generally enjoy the overall vibe of the fight, in the same way they enjoy experiencing the zones.
It’s about on par with getting excited over having another Elite to shoot at in a new Halo game.
Exploration is the most important part in virtually every game out there today. If it isn’t done well, the game is going to be extremely mediocre.

Exactly, but then they go through this realisation upon beating them that they're not actually that difficult but they still have to preserve their gamer cred by screaming at people who would like it if it were easier or telling them that they didn't beat the game properly if they used a myriad of options the game gives you but they deem to be cheap.
