Wolfenstein 2009

I just realized that we might get Wolfenstein 2009 back on steam because Microsoft now owns id, bethesda, activision, raven software and there are no more disputes over property

If it ever really were that simple.
God knows there's some obscure ass license holding that up.

there shouldn't be any
it's id/bethesda property, made by raven, published by activision
all owned by microsoft

Doesn’t the story go we could have had it the whole time but MachineGames didn’t want it rereleased b/c MUH VISION?

they are just devs, they can't make decisions like that. if that was somehow true that would mean you wouldn't be able to buy RTCW, a game that wolf 2009 is a sequel to

This plus Hexen 2: Portal of Praevus and Heretic 2.

daaaaaaamn nigga you're right

let's hope they care

don't care unless they fix high fps (idtech 4 was so shit god)

I only want the source code.

I love Raven so much bros. Too bad only shit they do is CoD stuff nowadays... their catalogue of games is amazing

1) It was already on Steam at one point but presumably got taken down for licensing reasons.
2) MachineGames specifically pulled characters/concepts from Wolf 09 for use in their own game, and view it as the second entry in the "Deathshead trilogy" anyway. There'd be no reason for them to hold some kind of vendetta against it.

They just said they didn't like BJ's Nathan Drake characterization in it. They absolutely do not have the power to make that kind of decision and you're absolutely deranged for trying to make up this kind of conspiracy.
It's a fucking Activision game, that's why we never saw it after they sold the IP. Zenimax/Bethesda could've made a deal for it but nobody thought it was worth it because it's the most 7/10 game in an era of 7/10 games.

It's like saying IO doesn't want any James Bond games released because it'll interfere with their 007 Project, and not that every single James Bond game comes down to agreements between Danjaq(the holder of overall franchise rights) and the specific publishers, which includes EA and Activision, as well as the clusterfuck that is Goldeneye.

No idea. We do know, however, that Activision does not own the rights to it.

>Bethesda owns the rights [to Wolfenstein (2009)] now, we still offer support for Wolfenstein titles we published however.

We are going home, 2009 bros:

It was better than any of the new wolfenstein games.
Change my mind

The best ones are RtCW, 2009, and The Old Blood.

Agreed
TNO had very bland enviorments and wolf3D aged like milk
The only blemish on the old blood is that horrendous forced stealth section at the beggining

There were never any disputes (every other Wolfenstein is on Steam) They just don’t remember it existing. Great game though.

>wolfenstein 2009 is re-released
>nobody buys it because it was a shit game

This is the actual reason.

>wolfenstein 2009 is re-released
All that matters.

Yeah but when do we get AVP2?
