in compression I just recently played Dying Light 2 and a 2 weeks later most of that game is a blur

RE gold edition is my second favourite RE right behind Remake
The vanilla version lacks some content but gold edition is just cram packed with so much good shit I put like 60 hours into 7 trying to complete everything.

Certainly not the best RE game but it's in the upper tiers good enough to stand with the classics. Easily the best horror game of the last 10 years if you ignore RE2 Remake.
After playing Village I really appreciate the little details in 7 like Ethan pushing doors forward to open them, the way you can open them bit by bit to sort of peek through, the details around the house like the various photos and the characterisation of Ethan, Mia and Zoe was much better IMO. Village feels a bit cheap compared to 7.
Btw RE7 and Village have VR mods for PC in early development now. Only thing is 7 doesn't let you aim with your head like on PSVR but otherwise it's near perfect github.com

RE3 Remake was such a cash grab and while I did like 8 it just missed the point of everything that made 7 and 4 good games so hard.

Yep it's sad. At least RE3 was outsourced to M-Two and not made by the Capcom team. But I was expecting something really amazing, like the best game in the series from Village after how good 7 and RE2 were but yeah it was just "good". It will be interesting to see how RE4 Remake turns out, to see if 7 and RE2 were just a fluke or to what extent Village was just a way to create and then repurpose assets for RE4 that might get more attention.

RE7 was the game that made me feel the same genuine joy i feel when was just a little kid playing the classic ones.Gold edition fixing two of the few mistakes the original game had is just great.
RE7 bring back the Environmental storytelling the old ones have when you check stuff in a room seriously missing in the action era games.i even a bit better since you can check photos and objects individually.
Tough Village indeed lack compared to RE7 i have to say the Winters House is fucking great in tell the Winters life Story after RE7.
