DS2 is the only Souls game that you can literally level every stat and be fine, in fact its one of the best strats to do that since you can get mundane scaling.
you literally can't fuck it up, just be patient and dont spam attack or dodge, mostly use movement to maneuver, only dodge when necessary, attack when there's an opening

The lock on system is absolute shit. Sometimes it locks on to enemies behind me, sometimes it even locks on to enemies behind a wall. I’ve never experienced this shit in all the other fromsoft games. Ds2 is a clunky unfinished mess most of the time. Still a fun game if you have the patience for it though.
