The difference is who is in control. A girl can be as slutty as she wants as long as it's her decision and no man made her do it. The reason feminists are always falling over each other is because none of them can agree on how much agency and capacity for self-determination a woman actually has. With video game characters, men are making the decisions and deciding how the women dress. This makes feminists seethe but not really because it's unrealistic or objectifying but because it puts a pressure on women to try and look like the video game characters when they really can't because game avatars are idealised physical forms.
