Retrochad for life.

>Liked game I played in gamepass
>Immediately buy it
>OP has severe self esteem issues and extreme poverty

this meme only applies to gameplass

you don't own it, unless it's physical.
If you did congrats.

you don't own anything on the other services either, they can ban you and you can lose all your money, effort, time and you're subject to their servers running.

And steam

And then I can sell my nintendo games I no longer use for $60 each and sell the console back at near full price.

>thinking your physical games will work after update servers go dark
ngmi

>google this meme to see where it came from
>its actually fucking real
What the fuck

So why do midwits love spewing this slogan?

yes they will, you can't update or go online but they sure as fuck should work

I'm not arguing about physical stuff though.

it's lefties trying to give capitalism a bad image

they hate companies trying to maximize profit

Yes the prison is build around us for a long time.
2004 was the start of it all.
In 2004 literally everyone exploded with their own DRM that you needed to get a internet connection and account to play. One of them was the Half-Life 2 launcher that became steam now, other more obscure ones simply got defunked like the Earth 2160 launcher.

Before that there was no DRM only DVDs and CDs you played.

I pirate everything.

>have digital game
>strip the DRM out of it
>now I own it
>can even burn it and sell it to a friend who doesn't have internet

"you don't own it" he says.

the ones that dont "own" it are the ones lacking in knowledge.

sure but gamepass you literally don't own anything, do you expect steam to die in the next 10 years? because I dont, if I stop paying gamepass I lose the access to those games and microsoft is adding/removing games every week, it's certainly different.

Don't forget that all games you buy from Microsoft are embedded in DRM, so you can't play them offline.

>Copy game files and crack to an external HDD/SSD
>Download ROMS and emulators and do the same

You are right, but a pirate life is the life for me~

>you will end playing an outdated and incomplete version but at least it works!
fucking kek

Owning nothing and being happy is literally the peak of enlightenment
You've clearly never heard of buddhism, asceticism, taoism, stoicism, or any other life philosophy
All you know is how to do is consume

Don't worry, I buy physical copies.

Hope you're ready to share clothes with strangers then

>so you can't play them offline.
wait really? I didnt know abou this, even on xbox?

you can't sell steam games, you can't trade games, you can't make copies, there is no preowned steam game store.
If you use a vpn to get a cheap game you lose your account, and other things that just make you lose all your shit even ones that had nothing to do with the vpn.
Also other shit they don't like, like mentioning you're doing something illegal will lose all your steam games, despite you paying for them

The other services have other bullshit too that you don't truly own games.

If you buy them through the windows store, at least, they're encyrpted in DRM that prevents any kind of tampering with the files. I think this also prevents you moving the files. If your computer dies, you lose your purchase.

user OP is a fag and all but you're gay
I still have my copy of Halo CE and GTA SA
On top of that I burnt many games to cds from gog, this is one of the best parts about PC, stop being a nigger.

I was obviously talking about newer games that has patches and dlc you fucking retard
