China has loads of games but they're considered low class hobbies for losers. Lots of people still play them, but they're obsessed with online games and mobile games. They shovel them out constantly and fill them with as much pay-to-win stuff as possible. They release so many games, and there's nothing of value at all. It's just like how they massproduce plastic toys and other junk. No love or passion is put into any games, even if the people who're making them do like games a lot (and even that is rare). It's just a business to them. And why would they waste their time? The Chinese people mostly have no background when it comes to video games, no experience, no history. Because consoles were not allowed to be released and even then most people couldn't afford a computer until like 15 years ago. And even then most people just have a phone.
Do not look to them for 'the future of gaming' - that's really ridiculous.
