Biggest waste of money in my life

I spent $4,000 building a top of the line gaming pc and it can’t even run last gen games at 4k60fps

Don’t be like me. Don’t fall for the PC gaming meme. I WANT MY MONEY BACK GABE

moores law

>Ultra
>Without DLSS
lol

>he actually fell for 4k meme
>ultra settings at the top of that

>he fell for the 4k meme
Everyone knows 1440p is the sweet spot for ultra settings

But hey you can emulate Switch games at 4k60fps lol

Imagine falling for the all Ultra meme

what’s wrong with ultra dumbass

The picture shows for a 400$ gpu you can run games better than consoles can.

Usually there is a very small visual difference between high settings and ultra settings but the performance hit is massive.

>4k ultra

beyond retarded. that is a setting for screenshots.

consoles don't even have the option of ultra settings because they don't have enough RAM available to render them. The OP picture is accurate, it means that a 3060 is more powerful than a PS5 and an XBS combined in some circumstances.

>all the poorfag cope itt
Just don't be like the guys replying to you and buy a console next time, or else you'll be the one coping like that next time with your $4k shitpost machine

ultra settings exist to give impression that the PC version isn't straight console port, in reality you'll barely see a difference between medium or high settings (unless it's stuff like textures, which is limited by VRAM)
back when 1080p was at it's peak, high end GPUs could handle 1080p ultra just fine, but with sudden resolution bump by 4 times the technology just can't keep up, even at optimized settings

to be fair, 3080/6800xt and above are legit 4k cards
just not able to max it out, yet
presumably in next gen, 4080/7800xt and better will get close to maxing out 4k/144hz for current games

>4K ultra

you should see 8K ultra

>40xx
Those are confirmed to only be refreshes of 30xx architecture.

I think we are finally at the point where 4k is just starting to become viable. I think the current gen of cards are about as capable at 4k as cards released back around 2008 were at 1080p. I think we are going to see massive performance gains at 4k in the next few gens. I'd say within 2-3 generations mid range GPUs will be able to run games at high settings at 4k with decent fps. I could be wrong though.

This.

Everyone knows 4k and RT aren't gameplay ready yet. Get a 1440p ultrawide and scratch the RT and you'll see even a measly 3070 will run anything at 80-120fps+ on everything full with DLSS on quality. And if you cry about DLSS being enabled, you should know even a 3090 can't run RT at all, without it.

The only bottlenecks are 4k, requiring almost close to 2x more pixels than 1440p ultrawide, and RT, which tanks FPS down by 25-30% across the board.

3440x1440 @144 checking in. best gaming experience possible.

>presumably in next gen, 4080/7800xt and better will get close to maxing out 4k/144hz for current games
Once they start making 9th gen exclusive games, it won't get any better. Games will focus on temporal reconstruction, Epic made UE5 default renderer to run games on consoles at 1080p upscaled to 4K, and consoles actually have good GPUs now. Now add inevitable 30 fps focus because only graphics sell.

resolution wise, ill concede its probably the best compromise right now
or maybe 2nd best, after 3840x1600, if you ignore the prices

but as an overall experience, the 4k oled shits on anything to a ridiculous extent
because its oled, not because its 4k
sorry, 1000:1 ips contrast just can't compete.

im eagerly awaiting prices for the upcoming 3440x1440p oled ultrawides
but im afraid they will be so overpriced that the c2 oled + a better gpu will still be the better deal.

Just enabling DLSS quality will get you 60fps and it looks better than TAA too. Turn down shadows and volumetrics to high and you can easily get more than 60 fps.

The new consoles usually run games at some weird 1800p meme resolution and a combination of low, medium and high settings.
You can easily get 120fps by using cucksole settings.

i don't expect a massive jump in games requirements until the next console generation
so, what, 3 years minimum? 5, more likely?

also, if you read my post, i specifically said
>for current games

I paid 1500 in total for mine over the past 6 years and even I find it's mostly a scam
The best thing about it is to have Playnite installed with all my games in one place
The worst thing about it is I am never feeling at ease enough to buy new games
On console, I just bought games day 1, on PC I worry about performance on my GTX 1070 that I can't upgrade, and even when it was new it didn't feel right to buy new releases
