they leave sonic at home to go to some wedding in hawaii and most of the rest of the movie is about sonic meeting tails and having to deal with robotnik and knuckles

When did the OVA came out.
This can't be the complete logo. 2 has the character spin on it and I doubt they'd stop with how it sells the point of the movie (new characters).
Metal or Shadow, whoever is teased in the end will change the 3 to something else.
