all is viable unless you sucky cocky
the lightning weapon spell is very nice to boost the damage of the weapon of your choice so i wouldn't want to miss out on that one

Suck mah dik

It makes Demon's Souls insanely easy because you get passive health regen. Can't remember how it worked out for me in the other games. I don't remember having any troubles.

not only are miracle builds viable they are pretty up there in tier lists
its reccomended for new players to stack enough faith to use a talisman and the beginner healing miracle to effectively quintuple your heal reserves
lighting spear is a great utility for stunning mobs just before running up to beef them
for a miracle centric build, i would highly reccomend a one handed sword such as the sunlight straight sword obtainable very early on by killing a non-essential npc
remember to invest your titanite slabs in many different gear sets as they become very common late game
its generally frowned upon to use miracles in pvp, especially when an opponent is backstab fishing
remember to play smart and friendly with your fellow soulsers (community term for fellow souls gamers) and bow before attacking

I always max VIT and END unless I find an interesting equipment.
Am I doing it wrong?

DS1's sunlight spears are insane but a pain in the ass to farm the medals for and impossible right now without duping I think

If you want to get technical, 2 is the only one where you could literally do full miracle the entire way through, as it's the only one that allows you to get an offensive miracle before having to fight a boss (you do have to fight the Dragonrider but he can fall to his death without you damaging him). For the other games it's not possible to only use miracles because you cannot get get past the first bosses/get a damaging miracle without using something else. Now beyond that, it is somewhat possible in all the games to go for a Faith Build and use Faith scaling weapons but if you want to mostly use offensive miracles your options are pretty limited.

>The chad DaS2
Sasuga

do not go down this road

No, I absolutely have to. You can dislike 2 as much as you want, but ignoring all the shit it got right is a fucking crime and actively made subsequent games worse.

if DSP could spam lightning spears so you can you, even post-nerf

I don't know if I'd go for chad or anything but 2 is the only one that's arranged in a way where it's possible. There's no tutorial boss, and the only thing between you and Lightning Spear at the start of the game is the Dragonrider and the souls needed to buy it/get to 22 FTH. The Dragonrider can fall to his death so that leaves the souls, and between his consumable soul and the ones from his fight you only need to get around another 500 souls which you can get from getting 2 of the knights in the area to walk off to their deaths. Once you have your single Lightning Spear you can use it to slowly chip away at areas and farm souls to increase your ATT to get more casts of it. It eventually becomes outright insane once you open the shrine of winter since you can then buy unlimted spears and fill every single slot with them.
For comparison, in DS1 you cannot get past the Asylum Demon (unless there's some glitch I'm unaware of) and then you'll need to still farm enough FTH to be able to raise your stats high enough to get Lighting Spear from the Sunlight Shrine. Your only options for this are to use Force to knock enemies to their death, or go get Gravelord Sword Dance (which techincally you could just use over Lighting Spear but it's not that great)
As for 3 I don't even remember when the earliest part you can get an offensive miracle but you for sure have to get past Gundyr in the tutorial first, and I think you have to get past the entire High Wall with it's boss as well.

allow me to reiterate more politely
please
legitimately please
do not go down this road
i am begging you as sincerely as I can
just one thread without this
just this once
please

Kinda, but you should then invite people to coop and huge AoE heal everyone from 0 to 100 in the middle of boss fights

Ok yeah I looked it up, while you can start with Force in 3 you cannot get an actual damaging miracle until Gnaw or Lightning Spear, which both require you to get past the boss of the High Wall. Gnaw would require pushing all the way to the cathedral while Lighting Spear can be found in Farron Keep, you don't have to kill anything past the High Wall boss but you do have to do a LOT of running.
So the end result is as follows
DS1: Have to at least kill the Asylum Demon
DS2: Have to kill the Dragonrider (who can fall to his death)
DS3: Have to kill Gundyr and Vordt
In order to do Miracles only.

Many enemies can be dropped to death with the Force spell.

Started playing for first time. Rang both bells then made new character. This is new character. Almost at the same place in half the time. Pretty cool.
Magic seems nice. Dex seems weak. The scimitar is very weak compared to the claymore even when I've upgraded it more. Haven't found another dex weapon. I made magic because the magic weapon sounded cool. It's okay. The missiles seem worse than flame orb. Tempted to make faith run desu.
Do I need to upgrade catalyst? How to? Upgrading the fire flame was easy.
Also rings seem pretty bad.

Weird. Cropped out stats. Switch screenshots are annoying.
Also the general for this game is very bad. Wish vrpg talked about it.

you don't level the catalyst, you lvl int

For the first game, Fire is basically designed to have no stat investment and gain all it's power from upgrading the actual tool (pyromancy flame) while Magic gets stronger from raising INT. If your INT is under 27 there's a staff you can get that's stronger but after 27 your starting staff will basically be stronger than anything else. But in general the big strength of your magic missles is how many of them you can have. 30 per slot and you can get multiple copies, you can end up running around with 90 of the fucking things, or upgrade to stronger magic later. As for DEX it can be powerful but you'd need to upgrade your weapons more/raise your stats more for that, in general you will be pulling smaller numbers than a big greatsword (say 200-300 versus 400-500) but in exchange you're going to attack faster and be commited to attacks for less time.

>Also the general for this game is very bad.
That's because it's not a souls general, it's a Dark Souls 3 PVP general
>The scimitar is very weak compared to the claymore even when I've upgraded it more.
What upgrade level is your scimitar? If you've rang both bells of awakening then it should be atleast +5, though if you've gone through The Depths you might've found a Large Ember which you can give to Andre, who can then upgrade your weapons further.

Your stats, build and equipment seems fine otherwise. Don't spoil yourself on stuff too-too much

Thanks. Makes sense. Wasn't sure since the flame needed upgrading.
Pyromancy seemed pretty strong. Especially since it only needed souls to upgrade. First character is a strength pyromancer. Got filtered in catacombs and sens fortress desu.
I didn't know about multiple copies. Sounds useful. I'm using magic weapon and great soul arrow right now. Seemed like a good balance between damage and uses. At least for depths. The fire balls were easier to aim and had aoe aspects.
Scimitar is okay with magic weapon. Right now it's plus 5. Not sure if infusing it with magic will be a good idea. Haven't found the ember for that anyway.
I didn't start with magic so I barely started using when i saved the guy.
