Which itself ripped off the old Disney pear/ball/tube shape language for characters, Mickey Mouse gloves and all, just with some 90's edge on top. That's probaly the only style overlap with Sonic.

Not at all, it was my first experience with the Klonoa series and it was great when I played it way back then.

It's fine for the most part. The only big problems were with the cutscene animations and a shitty English dub.
