I want to do a newborn NG+ on my file and I noticed one of the few things it will carry over is my compendium.
But if I save a demon with 8 moves will it let me summon it at the start of the game? Or will I need to get the demon proficiency miracles first?

I did law route first. I decided to switch to law alignment from chaos after Shinagawa and I made enough alignment choices to switch over without penalty.
This weekend I ran through chaos and neutral route with reborn NG+. Chaos was a huge let down. Neutral was shitty (and you fight one less boss) right up until that damned smile.... That's my current saved clear file.
I also did the prereqs for true ending on the law route so I save scummed just to see true ending. I wish the other endings had that kind of effort put in instead of a voiceover.
If I had to rank the endings it'd be Law > Neutrals >>> Chaos.
I will do a final playthrough to get my true ending clear (since the final boss is changed significantly) and I'll be doing a MAG build instead of STR.
I'm going to play Nocturne after I'm done with the MAG run because I never finished it

Nice. I've only managed to get Law but I'll go back for Shiva and the true ending at some point. Went STR all the way and absolutely demolished everything with crits and the strength-based almighty move.
Funny you mention Nocturne, because I just finished my first run of it today. Learn from my mistakes and don't fuck up when going for the TDE ending if that's what you want to go for.

A US PS2 copy? If so, that already is Maniax. IIRC the original PS2 version was only released in Japan. Anything international is already Maniax or beyond.
