Nothing, their numbers were released(leaked?) after they went belly up. TWD season 1 was far and away the most popular all the other ones were abysmal failures. They spent millions on marketing and astroturfing support for their shitty '''games''' everywhere and don't forget the licensing costs.
I remember a VGA ceremony years ago which had almost exclusively only TTG ads in between award announcements, those ad slots aren't cheap. 2015 or whenever.

Taking an IP which wasn't really well known in the normie sphere, taking the best parts of the setting without some of the more egregious issues of the Fables Universe. Slapping an accessible new coat of paint on it, the right mix of Noir and fantasy which normies would eat up. TWAU is probably the most accessible thing from the Fables IP. The porn of Snow helped too.
