I never played wow until classic came out, and so far I am sorely disappointed that blackrock depths is the only dungeon of its caliber I've seen

The only dungeon (and raid for that matter) that comes close is the Nighthold raid from Legion, because it feels like you are actually assaulting a full city rather than an area with random shit thrown into it.
