Steamies are blaming uncle Tim because the steam doa deck is a technical failure without a working anti cheat system

Its getting embarrassing.

this is why you should never interact with anyone on twitter

>have highly centralized single point of failure
>blame decentralized systems for being decentralized
ha ha

>develop anti-cheat for linux and android
>has no solution for dealing with basic part of both linux and android
>this is now a linux only issue

Do people bypass the fortnite cheat protection?

It's more that he's confident that linux users are smart enough to work around whatever anticheats are added, whereas windows users are mostly unsophisticated enough that it's not a problem.

>deck is a technical failure without a working anti cheat system
why would the deck have an anti cheat system?
go back to english school chong

If it works on Android it works on Desktop Linux. Android uses the Linux Kernel After all. There's no technical reason other than Sweeney being an autistic fuck.

So... Valve is making it easy to cheat in Fortnite and ruin Tim's groomer game?
Based.

Incidentally, aside from the cathook situation with tf2 (which isn't a linux problem and only distributes with linux BECAUSE it's easier than with windows) the actual cheating risk by linux players basically doesn't exist.
Most of them have better shit to do than program top fag scripts for Fork Knife which already rigs the game if you're a eceleb/high community member.

>anti cheat system
it's basically a DRM in corpospeak at this point.

Android users are worth the hustle
Like nobody will play fortnite on some wanabee handheld

then why say its a technical reason when it isn't?
that makes little sense,id be alot less of an issue with linux users if it was just his other reply of "it will be there if the users are there".

Fucking with ecelebs and streamers would probably be the main motivation. Really easy to piss them off and get a laugh.

They don‘t have manpower to expand their anti cheat system for some niche console
Pretty technical if you ask me

user, my point being is if you wanted to cheat in fork knife, just become an e-celeb and pair your account information with your twitch.
The game will literally feed you better drops based on your Epic Account id.

The kernel isn't the whole platform. Android devices and the android userland are worlds apart from desktop linux.

Hardly. Their anti-cheat is one of the best in the industry

they put it into EAC,so they do,and saying there aren;t enough users and theres this very large thing in the way are two different answers.
sweenys answer was about the kernel,if it was about anything beyond that,he would have mentioned it.

Why would I ever use a kernel-level anticheat on a linux system, embedded or not?
Miss me with that gay shit.

You wouldn't, just like you wouldn't want to ever use shit like denuvo. It's why they go for a graft integration to the market and completely avoid consumers and criticism by consumers. NOBODY likes this shit aside from really basic drift net shit like VAC to catch spuds using trash scripts.
Just having the lightest level of deterrence fixes this shit, which is why cheating is almost entirely eliminated by running user servers.

On unrooted Android devices the kernel is generally supplied by the OEM, who is assumed to be trustworthy. If your device is rooted or even if you just have developer mode on Fortnite will refuse to run, as it can no longer assume the kernel can be trusted. On desktop Linux there's no such thing as being rooted/unrooted, and it's not uncommon for people to use different kernels or build their own. Desktop Linux is an inherently a less trusted (in the "trusted computing" sense) platform than Android is, which is a problem for client-side anti-cheat solutions.

>uncle tim
kill yourself immediately
