Switch 2 isn't coming out until 2024 at the earliest. We're five years into it's cycle and we're only "half way through it's life".

Reminder Nintendo released the Switch and still supported the 3DS for a year or two after. I wouldn't be surprised to see one more model revision and then a Switch 2 by 2024 or 2025.

What would another model revision be? They've already given it the best screen they possibly can, and they're not going to modify any of the hardware because it needs to be 100% compatible with the original switch.

Not going to happen. It would cannibalize sales of the normal switch. The only reason they made a switch lite was because there was a market for cheap handhelds from being being used to buying 2ds for $100 that weren't interested in buying more expensive home consoles. There isn't anybody out there who refuses to buy a home console because they think $300 is too expensive.

You do know that just because the successor console comes out doesn't mean the current one has to immediately die right? PS4 is still getting support even with PS5 being long out.

Shit, you want a concrete sign that the Switch isn't being sidelined or retired anytime too soon? THE GODDAMN THING HAS NOT HAD AN OFFICIAL PRICE DROP YET. FIVE FUCKING YEARS IN. For reference, all the other big dogs for unit sales (PS2, DS, PS4, PS1, Wii) all had THEIR first price drops less than three full years in.
A better example would've been PS1 into PS2, or PS2 into PS3/early PS4. PS4 into PS5 is getting the degree of support it is out of complete necessity since games don't sell for dogshit on PS5.
