It's kind of weird considering how big Lemmings used to be. The original game sold more than GTA3 yet no one really thinks of it anymore when they think of Rockstar/DMA Design

I think it's still selling pretty well. Hell Lode runner sold amazingly, yet I never hear any real talk about either games.
I feel if it's not something everyone making a buzz or fuss about the board just never really pays it any attention.

It's because GTA is now the biggest thing and about every free roam game after, copies from it.
Lemmings on the other hand has many sequels, but commercially none of them lived up to the original.
The game might have inspired some concepts in other games, but it's not like GTA, where it changes the course of the game industry because loads of devs shit their pants at being able to drive your car across the map.
