...I don't know what else to do. I have hobbies and I pursue them, but I still spend the majority of the day here.

Any Forums is the only place on the internet that doesn't make me want to kill myself so as long as I still need to use the internet in my day to day life I'll always come back here

nah its a fun place to unwind. people take it way too seriously though. there's plenty of places to get just news and talk seriously about games. Any Forums is to just goof off, be silly, and also talk about which video game girls have the best assets.

because I take long breaks between lurking. And by long I mean years. I quit lurking daily around 2015. then my breaks between visiting here got longer and longer. I return for a few weeks until I get bored again and then return when it's been long enough.
this way everything stays fresh. The dynamics don't really change much, with oldfag wisdom it usually doesn't take more than 20 minutes to get up to speed with the new memes and rethoric

I'm from 2010 and I don't understand the games these are referencing.
I recognise the format in the second one though.

It's in the title of the second one, "Tsukihime" ending reactions. It was a visual novel that was insanely popular back in those days, as it had amazing writing and was one of the few 100%-translated VNs at the time.

Does any other oldfag also feel like you "solved" Any Forums years ago? Like you've seen every thread and interaction already and can predict every thread like it's some kind of vidya enemy you've fought a thousand times already? Even these meta threads and my own post are being predicted by anyone with simple pattern recognition who've been here for more than a year.

It sure takes away the yense of wonder the first few months had but it's also way more relaxed compared to the grind that came after the sense of wonder wore off.

Idk how to word it properly but I feel like a god among men whenever I return here or like some wise old man who already knows better and sees the youth make the same mistakes but is content watching them because he knows that he can't do anything about it anyway.

Most of the time. The main thing is that I can immediately tell when someone came here after 2015-2016, or during that time. There is a clear and distinct separation between people from before and after that era.
