Would you have liked God of War 4 more if Kratos didn't have a basedbeard?
no
the game would have to fix its combat
No, the game was just boring and not brutal enough.
fpbp
Basedbeard the Butt Pirate's least problem was visuals
fuck faggoty filters
SØ¥BEARD YA HOMOS
Just finish it on GMGOW and i have to agree, the camera suck ass, enemy hyper armor made a lot of skills worthless, combat design works against the shitty shoulder camera giving you a lot of cheap dead's, lack of enemy variety, unmemorable music. I liked the game but the beard is a non-issue next to all those problems.
maybe if the kid was gone and the combat didn't suck ass
It feels like the game's challenge entirely comes from flaws in the design
>ranged combat sucks? Ok here's a million of those flying bomb things and guys shooting guns at you from the edges of the arena
>camera is bad with a narrow epic cinematic FoV? Ok here's a ton of guys mobbing you
>Unnecessary RPG mechanics everywhere? OK here's an enemy 5 levels above you that's impossible to beat even if you fight him perfectly
They still fucked up his face and voice
This will never be the real Kratos
yes it does, i had no problems with the bosses but the mobs were a pain to deal with a lot of times, i did 3 Valkyries but gave up because of how annoying it got, it's not enough to make them hp sponges and kill you in 2 hits, they have to keep summoning mobs that hit you from off camera, not to mention the excess of particles that make hard to see shit.
Christopher Judge is a better actor than TC Carson by a mile and considering how bad Ascension flopped there was clearly no mileage left in old Kratos
The older GOW were always the poor man's DMC, but they were fun. They gave no shits, you could pull crazy shit, and you could tell the devs were having fun designing them.
After TLOU, games have been very concerned about being perceived as high art. That means, trying to be a movie.
This GOW feels very much like an attempt to be as cinematic and as narrative driven as possible, while neglecting basic gameplay and being fun. Holy shit, all of that convoluted crafting bullshit, when in other games I just beat the ever living fuck out of Hercules and got a sick ass weapon. Videogames are affraid of being too videogamey.
The beard was fine, he's just nothing like how he used to be, and the gameplay suffered due to Sony wanting shit to have more cinematics and exposition instead of Kratos fucking shredding enemies with endless rage.
It's the same Kratos, just given centuries to reflect on how his endless rage gave him nothing but pain and trying to be better to hold onto the one good thing left in his life
Which works when the game in focused on story and heavy character development, but in the case of God of War, people play it like they play Doom, to tear shit up. People have always played GoW to just mindlessly tear up enemies in the goriest way imaginable. Not once did anyone playing GoW did they imagine "I wonder what Kratos is feeling right now, I wish he'd share his emotions from time to time."
Imagine if they made a new Doom where Doomguy was all brooding and depressed because his demon killing didn't bring him any happiness, and it became a story heavy game about how much he's suffered but is learning to deal with it. People would fucking hate it because they play Doom to kill demons, not for a story or to see character development.
Don't care he sounds completely different and Judge doesn't understand the character the same way
yet for some reason, Ascension was a flop while God of War 2018 is literally the best selling game on PS4 and tied with the original as the most critically acclaimed entry in the series.
Because Ascension was another prequel and people were sick of the Greek setting, it had nothing to do with muh character writing
>Not once did anyone playing GoW did they imagine "I wonder what Kratos is feeling right now, I wish he'd share his emotions from time to time."
I kinda did
>very first scene in the series is about Kratos crying and killing himself because muh dead family
>wtf no one ever cared about his emotions!!!
you're confusing your own childish interests with the intentions of the art
Story was always important in GOW and Kratos was always portrayed as a tragic tortured soul though. Doomguy is literally a blank slate.
lmao you think the original devs wanted to make art? They wanted to make a fun power fantasy the story wasn't the main focus, killing gods and monsters in satisfying ways was
Just watch the making of documentary for GOW2
>learning to deal with it
I mean, he's Catholic; so it'd probably be just him going to church.
I will now play your game
you're a brainlet who thinks "art" is just highbrow awards-bait shit, all video games are art
and again, Kratos' emotional state was always an important part of the game, just because YOU didn't personally care doesn't mean others didn't or the writers didn't want to explore that. Why did they specifically choose to begin the series en media res with Kratos' suicide? Why is the most difficult part of the final boss battle when Ares tries to torture Kratos with the memories of his dead family? Why did the sequels specifically choose to explore Kratos' murderous rampage because he was incapable of getting over what he did to them?
>all video games are art
Oh you're one of those faggots
How is a thick beard søylent? Sounds like beardlet cope. You will not age gracefully and won't be able to cover up your disgusting old skin with a beard.
>I think art is pejorative because I am uneducated and reactionary
