The last game I played was X, the last game I paid money for was Platinum. It's rough around the edges and there's room for improvement to be sure, but I'm genuinely enjoying myself. It can be repetitive when you're trying to fill the dex, and I wish there were more trainer battles/actual multiplayer. Plus since its a GameFreak game, there's lots of little QoL stuff that's missing. If you've been fiending for a Pokemon experience that isn't just badges, catch god, more badges, Elite Four, then I'd say it's worth emulating at the very least.
