When you rush back to Castle Town you get caught up in him chasing after them just to lose against him because despite everything you faced so far as a kid Ganondorf was just entirely on a whole different level so you retrieve the Ocarina from the moat and rush to the Temple of Time to find a way to equalize the playing field and stop him
