Mario 64's controls have aged horribly when stacked against even Sunshine, not to mention galaxy/odyssey etc.
We get that you played mario64 when you were 9, and it blew your little socks off. But you should maybe replay it some time now that you're a big boy and capable of thinking critically, and realise how far the series has come.

Mario 3 on the other hand represents the peak of marios controls, they're event tighter than mario world's because they have less input lag which you can quantify for yourself with modern emulators.

i think all 3 departed enough from their 2D counterparts that their 3D entries can almost be considered different series entirely. you can make some surface level comparisons but all 3 series underwent HUGE changes to accomodate 3D (metroid less so than mario and zelda though)

Those 2 games are better than the entire Sega Genesis library.

prime had a lot to complain about, like the hud, fov etc.. super metroid was perfect at the time. but there is always room to improve.

What? Metroid Prime is vastly different to Super Metroid. Much more so than OoT to ALttP (which already had a bit of three dimensionality.

also, if you think 3 games can be indisputably defined as the best of all time, you simply haven't played enough games. Even if you restrict them to their specific genres, there are many that are just as flawless.
