Fatal Frame Trilogy is great. Avoid Maiden of Black Water, though.
yeah shit is unplayable without a guide

heard a lot about siren, should i play 1 or 2? is the story that grandious ?

Maiden of Black Water is the only FF game ported to PC?
If you truly have patience and a lot of time to experiment, play 1. If you get really stuck look up a spoiler-free guide.
2 is also good and playing 1 beforehand will make you appreciate 2 more.
any other horror games with great stories? i had neglected the indie side of horror since most look like jank and cheap scares. are there really 0 hidden gems even in the indie scene?
>Maiden of Black Water is the only FF game ported to PC
Yes, unfortunately. 1-3 can still be purchased on the PS3 digital store or you can just emulate them.
Rule of Rose is amazing to watch on YouTube and then analyze and discover the symbolism and the lore, the gameplay is unfortunately absolute trash
Depends on what you consider to be horror.
There's games that are horrific with oppressive atmosphere but aren't necessarily frightening, per se. Stuff like Kane and Lynch 2 or Drakengard 1.
Garage bad dream is a little gem of fucked up but in a fascinating way. It's literally one of those nightmares that confuse you and make you sweat but aren't actually scary enough to make you wake up
is the trilogy like SilentH trilogy where 3 is a sequel to 1 and 2 is its own thing?
>Avoid Maiden of Black Water, though.
does it suck ass?
not him but i heard people say to play the 2nd one first because apparently its the best hooorroro game and best in the series
Not him but yes, it's very janky by modern day standards, and you cannot excuse it with "well, it's a retro game". It was clearly extremely low budget, but not done in a pleasant way game design wise.
It's not unplayable, it just is very meh and they could've done so much more with what they had
Its more like 1 and 2 are their own separate things and 3 ties them both together.
Yes. Its not scary whatsoever and is extremely linear. Its like the RE6 of the franchise.
True. 2nd is the overall best but 3rd has the scariest moments.
how does siren compare to ff2? i heard siren is very cryptic
OP said stories. Siren has a really fucking good story.
Siren's extremely cryptic, it's one of the few games where unanimous opinion is that it's better with a guide. There was Siren Blood Curse on PS3 which was supposed to be a dumbed down Americanified remake (like the burgers were doing with Japanese horror at the time) but it loses a lot of the atmosphere and charm.
Siren operates on dream logic and unpredictable enemies. This combined with the lengthy levels and lack of checkpoints makes it the tensest survival horror game ever. If you find a particular level to be too cryptic or frustrating, you can always go back to a different level too, since each one has multiple endings, conditions, hidden secrets and the game itself is non-linear.
But don't play through the game WITH a guide, only refer to it if you genuinely don't know what to do after having exhausted all the options in other levels.
There are no horror games with good stories if I'm being perfectly based with you.
