It's better than Morrowind

It's better than Morrowind.
>but muh mushroom trees
Cope.

nope, game is shit

Level scaling prevents that from being true but oblivion has a ton of soul and at the time the game blew people away. My Wow guild struggled with people blowing off raids for it.

>It's better than Morrowind.
no not at all, god no, Oblivion is probably the worst in the franchise depending on how you place Arena

It's got the most soul of any TES that's for sure.

Play a REAL RPG, tolkiencuck. ES was never good. Fallout 1 on the other hand...

Wes Johnson and Sean Bean Tales: The Game.

lmao filtered

Morrowind was just released at a time where technolgy just wasn't quite there yet.
2 things make it unplayable today
>shitty gfx/combat
>no voice acting
Nobody has time to read that shit.

>no voice acting
kek, that's a feature, illiterate-kun

That's just your nostalgia talking.

voice acting can mean more options in dialogue

Should have posted Skyrim if you wanted to bait people.

>It's better than Morrowind.
thanks but i'm going to play the whole series.

Not baiting. And Skyrim IS better than Morrowind, but Oblivion is better than Skyrim.

It is, to me.
I fucking hated Morrowind's dice-roll combat so Oblivion was a massive improvement in comparison.
Having actual mana regeneration was also a massive improvement for magic.
Quests, in general, are also more entertaining in Oblivion.
People hated the compass, but it was, once again, a massive improvement, because the world in TES is designed like shit for the purpose of "questing by directions" - there are games that can pull a no-compass, and even a no-map off, but TES isn't one of them.

It did always look hideous, though.
Enemy scaling was too glaring - I remember finally getting my first daedric helmet and shield from fucking robbers because encountering one in a full daedric gear is more likely than finding an actual fucking daedra wearing it.
Oblivion gates were fun but there were just way, WAY too fucking many of them. They took a cool and menacing set-piece and turned it into a fucking chore.
Magic getting rebalanced was a massive improvement but that only made the loss of many cool spells Morrowind had hurt more. The simplification of visuals was also pretty sad.
Acrobatics was fucking retarded in that game, too. While the jump height barely increases with the skill, jump length grows ridiculously. With maxed Acrobatics and a short-length buff, I could've circled the Arena, what, three times? The fuck is that.

Not a perfect game by any means but out of all TES games I've played (which are the last three), I had the most fun with it.

It butchered the lore, at least Project Tamriel is finally correcting that mistake

>no voice acting
>Nobody has time to read that shit.
lol this faggot is implying that people don't skim Oblivion's subtitles and click through most voiced dialogue anyway

Stop advertising

Better than morrowind and better than Skyrim.

No voice acting would be OK if they still gave the characters personality and individuality through the written dialogue but they don't. There's a shitload of things you can ask NPC's but they all give you the same copy-pasted responses. The NPC's in Morrowind do not feel like people. Even if you get a lot of options when interacting with them, none of them are meaningful.

Heard any news from the other boards?

The people on Any Forums who hate morrowind are symptomatic of the reddit infestation on this board.

If morrowind just isn't your thing, thats fine.

However all of the complaints are zoomer instant gratification numbed dopamine receptor complaints.

>W-WHY ARE THERE DICEROLLS?

Because you're supposed to use the weapon type you're building around. If you have at least 40 points in a weapon skill you'll hit 70% of the time. Once you level up a bit it'll be 90% of the time.

>N-NO VOICE ACTING!!!!

Yeah you're supposed to actually read about the world because it's important to understanding the context of quests and factions.

>M-MUH WALK SPEED

This is the only level-headed zoomer complaint, but 90% of the time if you know where to find fast travel/teleports you'll be fine.

If you're seriously this serotonin deprived from porn addiction and playing video games every second of your freetime then just stick to slot machine gacha games.

This system is stupid, you can't avoid triggering them and lose points.

please just let tamriel rebuilt be finished before i'm dead
