Can someone explain to me why game publishers keep pushing NFTs despite a majority of their customer base absolutely abhorring the use of NFTs in games let alone the entire concept of NFTs and crypto in general? Corpos move slowly and they're all just now starting to push NFTs after they had the "hey tech guy, explain this enn eff tee stuff to me" phase internally once they heard it can make money. The result is that after doing the bare minimum of research and preparation they're all trying to "conquer this new emerging market" first and they are now encountering the negative feedback for the first time, because just like the initial push for NFTs, the negative customer reaction moves at a glacial pace inside the corpos as well, so they didn't have time to realize that it's a bad fucking idea.

If literally 1% of a companies consumers decide to buy into their NFT's (which in every case so far have sold out almost immediately) they can make insane profits for virtually no effort whatsoever, they can literally stop making games and just sell this for a few years until the bubble bops.
We already know that public opinion over companies has almost no real world effect over the sales of games, example being Ubisoft and EA being some of the most hated but most profitable game publishers.
