Honestly I think there's a shitload of room for a really good werewolf game.

What's that even supposed to mean?
Are you at least POV-ing as the werewolf?
Let's say you receive about $2 million to make a game. How does it play, who do you hire?

There is, but nobody's willing to try. Last attempt was Earthblood and that sucked.

Anything that involves them being dead.

Fudge the full moon thing, go with a transformation into a wolf man at will/at night.
Have segments where you're a human and you can investigate whatever the plot is.
Werewolf mode would be highly mobile, able to use verticality of the level and its more of a hunter/predator type gameplay where you've got to stalk enemies, or go full rage mode and just tear apart enemies and eat damage.
But most importantly the werewolf has to be fast and mobile with all kinds of mechanics for ambush tactics.
As the game progresses have monster hunters and vampires enter the story. Maybe go with a world of darkness setting, but don't fuck it up this time.

when wolf form is bested he turns into human, laments his choices and dies in flames
kino

The werewolf boss in VtMB was pretty intense

>really good werewolf game.
In your own words, how would it work?
Like ?

choices? which werewolves were ever one by choice?

Yeah both posts were mine.
Set it in the pacific northwest, or the edge of the redwood forest. Small and medium sized sleepy towns scattered around, and a bigger city on the fringes.
Make the area your personal territory as the resident chadwolf but you have to defend it from someone new coming into town, and the natural faggotry and scheming from the other factions.
But yes, really go all in on the ability to be a silent predator in your element. Have some kind of progression system that unlocks different ability trees and powers. Like being able to summon and control wildlife, like packs of wolves, bears, use owls and hawks to distract and scout enemies.
Enhanced stealth and attack abilities. Regeneration upgrades. The basic crap you put in a game to let you get stronger.

Bloody Rose's Yugo is pretty good.
