he has a strong stock weapon. unlike heavy, he can move around swiftly if the player knows how, he can reach extreme heights, he can shoot from afar and close by and the enemy will recieve the same amount of damage no matter where soldier was, and has 200 fucking health. Its like if you took heavy, demo, scout, and sniper and mashed them all together.

IIRC the reason fast heavy is bad for comp is it's a ton of extra muscle for minimal downside, which forces the other team to also run fast heavy. It's not the lack of balance per se, it's that it effectively drops a flex spot on your team, kind of like how the old dangershield was broken because it forced your opponents to run it as well.

Or you could just use one of the many many many ways to easily kill a class that can barely move and has no range.

That makes sense, honestly. More than "oh no we can't deal with heavies at mid he's too strong :(" at least.

soldier is very strong on the whole but i wouldn't say he's actually op until someone runs one of those aids `live forever` loadouts.
a lot of the game's classes are very very strong but that doesnt make them unbalanced.

Stickyjumping makes you go way further than rockets, even if it costs more health you can still use it to get out of there when shit goes south.

i have 8k hours played, i'm a scout main.
i shit on soldiers. they are easy meat. they are not really that hard to kill, they are easily avoided, and are only a threat if you're not paying attention to their position and you let them either divebomb you or gain the higher ground.

Honestly the only buff he needs is stuff that makes his kit have more options and overall improves the pace of his gameplay. For the longest time heavy was boring as sin running stock and KGB and since swapping to Tomislav and GRU and just W keying in pubs it’s been so much more fun. Being a human sentry blows ass it’s much more fun having some speed and agility which is what any future buffs or items should be balanced around
