Are IGN slowly becoming based?

Are IGN slowly becoming based?
They actually have the balls to criticize big releases now

Pokeshit is a 4 at best.

They gave sword and shield a 9

>IGN
>based
Pick one

More they’re becoming even more braindead, they complained that these games are too difficult for them

No you shitposting virgin

They give everything a 7 for money

7 is not a cristism, retard

7 is still "good"

user. 7 is the literal default score when they aren't getting paid but still feel like giving the game a good score.

Numbers below 7 literally doesn't exist unless the game in question pisses off the reviewer in some way (Or IGN wasn't given a copy to review)

7 is basically as low as many reviewers are willing to go on games that aren't an utter disaster. Mediocrity gets a pass, more or less, because these publications rely on good relationships with developers in order to publish these reviews in the first place.

these are not american companies, so they are allowed

A "7" for IGN is basically making good with the fanbase without getting them riled over the game being shit if it was given a lower score.

how new are you? 7 is the compromise rating. Its always what they give to give bad games a good rating

kill yourself, holy shit what a fucking sheep

IGN has been good for a while now. I unironically trust their video reviews.Any Forums boomers will cope of course because they can't accept thinks change over time

IGN hands typed this.

Any Forums boomer hands typed this as predicted

>Shitty game journos are forced to give some criticism to shit instead of shilling 24/7
>still gives shit games just a slap on the wrist
>WTF THEY ARE BASED NOW??
Dumb tranny.

Compared with 15 or 20 years ago, IGN does seem more willing these days to give big games lower scores. Jokes about the “7-10” scale have been around for ages, and I think they’ve had their effect on the new generation of reviewers. They want to be “tough.” Now the fact that the scores in the pictures are 7 doesn’t mean this is the old trope in action. In the old days the 7 was reserved for good AA games, not big releases like this; years ago I bet they would’ve scored better. Back then when a big release got lower than an 8 or 9, people were scandalized. Recall that the Jeff Gerstmann and Twilight Princess debacle was over an 8.8. The internet erupted when IGN’s Mario Kart: Double Dash review came out. The score? 7.9. People were used to big games getting 9s, and even an 8.5 was disappointing. So things have changed.

>"[Game] is an ambitious thing" used twice
Should've had NXGamer proofread those synopses, he could've made it more "sumptuous"

>zoomers are too young to remember that era where people thought IGN hated Nintendo
>zoomers don't know where the 8.8 meme came from

IGN gives everything a 7 now, even movies

>it's above average
>OMG BASED

no you retarded fuck

They gave nu-God of War a 10/10.

They gave fucking botw a 10/10
